Oh it is a sad day, but perhaps there is a silver lining

To me the CHs that have highest replayability and therefore become most memorable are the ones with simple beat patterns and no over-the-top editing, but that also show that there was work and thought put into them. By that I mean that there are no music and beat sync errors, black frames and similar. Basically a solid video where it's clear that it took effort to complete and it wasn't rushed.

Sorry to hear that man, but get a WD 4TB external drive and back up every week or so going forward. I've survived multiple main computer crashes that way. I actually have two external drive backups in case one of those dies too...

Sorry for the disk crash, laogai.
I'm with chfluxfan on the importance of a good backup strategy, whatever we do with computers. There may be a way to regain some data depending on the disk damage. Let me know if interested, PM or here.

They break too! But in the meantime, they are FAST!
What I did in the past with surprising success is:
- To have low expectation from the start.
- Plug the disk on a working computer, either directly or through USB using an enclosure device.
- Use a file recovery software like PC Inspector (pcinspector.de this one is free) to copy files still accessible
- Another possibility is to low level copy from the bad disk to a new disk of the same size. I've done this over two days one time, and luckily, it worked. A possibility is the 'dd' command under UN*X. I've used a free software, but it looks like it's no longer free so not recommending it specifically.
