and as for "the core idea" as you call it , I can set a side my emotions and look at it objectively , its still wrong , it can't work and it leaves humanity with too shallow of a gene pool to survive.
why so? We survived for thousends of years this way somehow. So why it shouldn't be working now?
first in the 1930-50s most people did not spend a lot of time on there looks, most were just worring about putting food on the table.
First of all I should say that I don't really know US history that good, so I'm not sure about the dates. All I know that some time ago america was all about health and beauty. And now it's about food and finding an exuse to it.
its not that no one will have an advantage over another , its the belief that all men are created equal.
In what place are we equal? We are not - from the very birth. Someone's parents are rich, someones are poor, someone is beautyfyll as is, someone have to work hard and will still never be prettyer than the other. Someone is lazy, some is not. Someone is dumb, someone not. Someone's calm, someone is not. Heck, we are not equal. Not in a bit. All I'm talking is a society in wich everyone will be granted to have he's freedoms and fulfill hes desires, but will NOT be granted those freedoms and some of the goods just because he was born. Where everyone should work and compete for a better place. In our world EVERYONE can survive, even when doing nothing. Now it won't be as good of a life. But our government will still feed and protect them. And every year it becomes worce.
And not just that. I was talking about that people should choose a partner on he's qualities. But our moral teaches every new generation things like "looks are not important" or "the one that looks only on appearence of a person is a jerk" and everything like that. That's bad too.
The other thing that strongly concerns me - is where our medicine go. We save children with genetic corruptions and mutations and pathologies. They will grow up and leave this genes to the future of a mankind, is it good?! We save people who are bound to the bed for life, or are braindead - what for? At the same time lots of abandoned children leave a pretty low life, to say, why not spend this resources on them, rather than wasting them on living corpses, who will never ever make any more contribution to the society. We are not researching cloning tecknology, while every year thousends die without donor organs, thousends get killed or screwed for those organs, and criminals gets welthy. But noooo, cloning is against our moral! People who research the cure from cancer on mice get ATTACKED and KILLED, because someone thinks that using mice is against moral!
Hell, I can talk all day. Our moral codex is so fucked up, and gets worce with every year.
People need to learn to love each other, before its too late. Your logics are the ones that in the end will never work. There will always be injustice in the world, and fat and ugly people. But if there wouldnt be the ugly, there could also never be beauty. It both depends on each other.
that's a common arguement, but it's really dumb. If there wasn't sick people we won't be glad that we are healthy. If there wasnt ugly people, than we won't know who's beautyfull. Both statements are off course wrong.
I'll try to be short. The concept of beauty is
1) fairly individual
2) but based on certain rules, which are, in most cases when we talk about human beauty, are about health and state of the body.
Off course, someone likes blondes, some red, some brunette - that's not the point. We don't normally like fat people or, on the other hand to skinny. Both cases is the marker of something not normal about their health. We look on the body, bone structure and other points - men like bigger breast because such women will be better at feeding the baby. We don't like scars, at least men don't. I'v heard a lot about women liking scars - maybe because this is the sign of a man's victory. That he was in a dangerous situation and survived. And maybe those rumors are fake. We look at the skin, because it represent's the health of the body in general. We look on how accurate he or she is dressed, because we want to get in touch only with those who are responcible and look after themselves.
Beauty is not abstract. It follows certain rules. That's why even when there are no ugly people around (and that will never happen, because we tend to dislike some people that look normal, and are even liked by other people, but we somehow don't like their appearence) we will still be satisfied. Maybe we won't be SOOO happy about finding a pretty partner, if that was norma. Indeed, we are glad if we find someone beautyfull for ourselves, when there are a lot of ugly freaks around. But I think that's not too much to loose.
GET SOME NUTS
what was that about? I have them, you know.
