then it's good news that there are people that actually do have their own collection, good to hear! i also do. and jea i also had some favorites i cant find anywhere anymore. the producers even delete them from their download collection which is a shame so it doesn't help you buy their subscription.

im aware that things do disappear. i was playing a devil's advocate a bit. but at the same time I'd say that majority of regular people are good enough with the basically infinite amount of content that is online. but we're here in a niche community so it'll be a bit different sample. so i wanted to get some numbers and general sentiment here. already it's quite revealing so im glad all this input is really valuable

Your poll is missing an option. Yo uhave under 100, and then 500 to 1000. I'm in between there, with more than 100 but less than 500. If I find something I really like I download it in case it gets taken down. I also often download ones that look interesting, or were highly recommended to watch later, if I don't have the time to watch them then and there.

While there may be a basically infinite amount of content online, the quality varies so widely. Finding really good stuff, or stuff I'd want to watch again is not so easy, so when I do find a good one I download it. And I only use free sites. I haven't yet paid for any of the premium sites, but I'm warming to the idea. Money is not as tight as it used to be

Had a little read through here sounds like an interesting idea that I'd definitely be interested in. I have a cloud storage collection of around 600gb (all Pmv/cockhero/edge challenges) and a local storage collection of about half that size with some double ups (not more than 15% I'd say) total video count should be approx 100

It's great that you and are people interested Tho the thing is that the app will need the "source" videos from the producers/websites themselves to create a cockhero video on the fly. I'm planning to add other features, to also work with preedited videos/rounds but the default is you give it source videos and it stitches it together always differently.

Majority of the library is focused around E-stim Cock Hero/PMVs. Metadata coverage on stashdb and pmvstash is really good for that content now so most vids will auto-identify on import (if others want to get started). I supplement with megapacks of specific performers or sites that I like. Scene count is inflated from lots of short onlyfans/manyvids type clips.

I share the sentiment of others here - yes everything is usually readily available on streaming sites, but in my time lurking I've seen this community go through several "purge" events that required us to re-seed/build another google drive/mega archive. Seems the entire internet is going this direction so I cache practically everything I come across that I might want to access later. If enough of us do that we can re-populate whatever streaming sites pop up next.

For ferdinand, I like to propose a suggestion to explore developing what you're thinking as a stash plugin. The timing of your post is impeccable because I have been floating the idea of something similar for some time. The StashTV/StashGifs plugins are already a start in the right direction. I have been trying to work through how to add an interface that would allow you to steer what clips are selected based on tags/performers/scene markers.

I think building around an existing platform will make it much easier for others to get started as well as enable others more to more easily contribute (I'd like to take a stab at this too). A lot of good projects here have struggled to get momentum from being a little bit too technical IMHO.

Trying to keep this short but I think this is a great idea and I've wanted to see something like TeaseMe integrated with Stash for some time. I'm also prototyping a websocket connector for Stash <--> Restim so that funscripts can be automatically loaded and synced with whatever is playing. I think we have a really good path to turn lolol2's great E-stim Tower into something even more interactive and customizable.

A lot of what I've been collecting recently is one-minute long edits posted on ex dot com (formerly twitter dot com) which are tiny in size and often of low image fidelity but of incredible and mind bending aesthetic quality - instead of say... 4k 90m cinema quality mdma companion videos or whatever.

As of last count - 10 seconds ago - I have 1711 videos in my stash;

- 193 CHs (including yours, ferdinand21!)
- 355 PMVs
- ...and all the rest are the ever-growing, decades old custom collection

"Why?" - you asked...

Because:

- Funscripts: Every single CH and PMV has a funscript that I use during my Quest/Edge2 combo sessions; some of them custom-built with FunscriptDancer, since there was no funscript ever made for them
- Privacy: I want to practice the hobby without any of the IT behemoths knowing what I like and why. All my collection has been built up gradually, over VPN-ed connections. I use Linux since way before it was famous, and know how to stay under the radar.
- My own tags: I use tmsu and have a completely tagged collection, with the tags that *I* am interested in
- I play the videos with Milovana/monsieur_so's Python script, from a network isolated user; and my VR Helmet is connecting to a network-isolated VLAN, where an SBC serves the entire collection over minidlnad.

Well, you did say you were doing research... so I had to flex If there's enough interest in the setup, I can write up a guide - but it would not be for the faint of heart. Lots of technical details - LUKS-encrypted drives the SBC serves the collection from, tags for the entire collection via tmsu, networking and isolation...

Suffice to say I belong in the old guard; convenience never won over privacy.

Technically fakeblah's creations are PMVs, not CHs - but dpl (yet another master of the craft see his 4 VS creations) has made a CH out of them.

Sharing a 750GB collection is not easy... I keep two copies for safety in two external USB drives - and even if you were siting next to me, copying directly from the drives at the top USB speed (120MB/sec) it would take 2h. I think that getting them piece by piece is still the best way - because my collection is what *I* like; it may turn out that you have very different tastes. It will take time, but there's nothing worthwhile that doesn't.
