So its been awhile. How are things going with you?

To be honest, between ESM 2.0 getting rating-bombed out of the top 100 thus limiting its views and then seeing some pretty suspicious voting patterns for TotM, I got pretty annoyed and lost interest in updating anymore. I know I shouldn't care about such things. I'm probably too sensitive. But I work on ESM for free, and it's a LOT of work, and I have to squeeze it in between my real job. The only real reward is knowing people are seeing it and enjoying it. Which means doing the grind to update it when I know just one or two people can drop its ratings so it disappears from the top pages and stops getting views is extremely demoralizing.

Like I said, I'm probably too sensitive.

I have fiddled around with it a bit since then. Time heals all wounds, I guess. I might update it and finish it up. It's reasonably close now that the mechanics are finished. But it'd still be a year or two of work at my pace to complete everything I have planned, so it depends on my motivation. Maybe. We'll see.

That sucks ! Since I put it into my favs I haven't really been paying attention to stats... and I was kinda under the impression that TOTM thing was over for a while - it was inconsisten at best with new entries and some of those teases didn't do too much for me - certainly not in the way ESM did. This tease series is the only reason I visit this site anymore. And since new updates are scarce haven't been here for a while. Hope you'll find time and motivation to finish the Mommy's story... take as long as you need, maybe there's a way to turn this into an actual game with Patreon support ? The story seems worth it.

I’m so sorry someone’s done that to you, that’s terrible! I’ll make sure to review and vote from now on! You’ve got so many fans and your works a real highlight and much appreciated.

A full patreon might be too much stress and another plate to juggle but what about a tipjar of some sort so people can show their appreciation for your work without obligation from you? I hope things get better for you and you don’t go away like Bennygrimm, another brilliant writer who’s work didn’t get enough appreciation.

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone. I do appreciate it. Like I said, I've been fiddling with this again, so I might finish it. We'll see.

Meanwhile I hope folks continue to enjoy it. Please do give 5 stars if you feel so inclined. High average ratings seem to be the only reliable way to get people to see a tease once it's been on the site for more than a few weeks. Which is what makes the review bombings so annoying. I really only care about total views, but if a tease isn't in the top 40 or so, people just don't seem to see it.

One thing I won't do is take the tease down like bennygrimm and others. It'll be here until the site goes dark.

Right now, I'm planning to keep up three versions. Classic (currently 1.7 but if I do an update, this will become 1.8, the last stable-ish version of the old willpower system), Stable (the most tested version, currently 1.8), and New (2.0 right now). I'll replace 1.7 with 1.8 and 1.8 with 2.0 if I ever do get around to 2.1., then publish 2.1 as a new tease so people see it.

Or, worst case, things will just stay as they are forever.

I also just wanted to post to share my appreciation. This is THE tease i keep coming back to the site for, nothing else even comes close. Every time there’s an update i play through all the storylines again just to see what i could have missed. If you make another version, I’d love it, so sorry to hear that it’s reached its end of life.
