My parents don't have sex, I don't know what you're talking about. They're too old for that now.

I grew up with parents who wouldn't even mention sex at all and I went to Catholic school so obviously there was no sexual education so I was really in the dark until I checked a book out of the library when I was about 16 and found out how stuff worked. So I decided when I had kids (we have 2 daughters) that I would be the opposite. I would always answer any questions, make sure they knew about birth control, all that kind of stuff.

When my oldest daughter was about 8, she asked the "why are boy parts different from girl parts" question and I explained it to her, that it was part of the process of making babies and I explained how it worked and that it was meant as a way for two people to express their love for each other. She thought about it and said, "So, is that what you and Daddy do every morning? Are you making more babies?"

We weren't nearly as quiet or sneaky as I thought we were!
