FB: New video tease project - 'Stroker Ace' *teaser*

Post by supermokkori »

So, I guess it's my turn now.

Having been brought here to Milovana by discovering the 'Cock Hero' series, I've really enjoyed the "rhythm-stroke" based videos originated by Lalaland and perfected by both andyp and vindicare. And with other members starting to share their creations, I figured it's my turn to give it a try. Plus, I've intensely critiqued andyp's and vindicare's video works, it's only fair they give me the same treatment! :-D

With that, I'd like to introduce a work-in-progress "teaser" which I affectionately call "Stroker Ace". I intend it to be 35-40 minute long rhythm-stroke video - I'm still finalizing the structure of the video, but I think it's going to be 3 stages with each stage consisting of 3 rounds each.

Of course, I'm going to borrow some elements from the 'Cock Hero' series though I'm going to change-up a few things; partly to be different, partly cuz I don't have the time or the brainpower to do all the neat special after-effects that andyp can do. :-P

One big change is a visual "stroke" indicator. Instead of a "Stroke Meter" I went the more simple route: top left corner of the video, you'll see the word "Stroke". Not only does this indicate when you should be stroking, but it'll flash to the rhythm of the "stroke beat" for the first few seconds. On top of that, "Stroke" will be colored differently depending on speed of the stroke beat:

Green STROKE = slow pace beat
Yellow STROKE = medium pace beat
Red Stroke = fast pace beat

As for an audio "stroke" indicator, I chose to use woodblock sound effect - I wanted a drumbeat/percussion beat with a higher pitch so it could be heard a bit more clearly over the music. I think i got a good balance 'tween the "stroke beat" and the music, but you guys let me know if it's too loud or too annoying.

Again, this is a test teaser - still playing with compression methods and what not. And as for content, it'll be a wide mix of sexy females in various hot action: dancing, strip-tease, masturbation, handjob, BJ and full hardcore sex. I'm also "borrowing" the idea of having a female "host", similar to utopia's "Mr. Edger" series... still figuring on who the female host will be ;-)

Anyways, a few screencaps:

Strangely my biggest thing was positioning. Should have the "stroke" on the top right instead of top left. Anything at the bottom should be centered. I found the blinking more distracting than helpful. The stroke beat can be heard well enough (could be a little bit louder without being annoying) and there isn't a need for the text to blink. I would recommend just describing the beat with the text at the bottom. Such as "1-2-3-4", "123--", etc. I would also have it say "beat change coming up (describe beat)" 2 or 3 seconds before it changes. I did like the different colors for stroke.

Also, higher quality is always a plus. Although I could see why this rendered version wouldn't be of high quality, being a teaser and all. (I just looked at it and realized it was 720p, so the not amazing quality isn't a fault of your own. Try to find higher quality videos if possible. Not a huge deal, but you know...)

Also on the video transitions... I would recommend just fading them. That's just my personal opinion. I feel the other transitions are either too sloppy or distracting. And please don't get Clip ADD where the scene is constantly being changed. (Like round 3 in CH-Anatomy) (Your teaser was fine and doesn't have Clip ADD

6 Edits Later: (editing to note that the edit counter doesn't includes edits that happened before someone posted after me.)

If I were to make one, I have a feeling it would be similar to this. I have a bit of experience with video editing. (By a bit I mean almost none.) I almost think it might be a little more relaxing not having all the extra "creative text". This might be a case where "less is more".

Editing to steal a point from a post below:
The whole commercial/music video during pause = win.

Edit: Tried it out, I feel that the red and the one yellow "123--" was a bit too fast. Not in a "stamina difficulty" sense, but in a "my arm/hand doesn't go that fast difficulty" sense.

Edit: 8-)

MyFreeCams: Great free cam site! Lot of girls who love teasing!

Protip: Use https://mega.co.nz/ for uploads.
Won't need to upload it anywhere else because it doesn't have the shitty restrictions all the others have. Besides emp, some people like seeding there, so keep that.

The preview was awesome!

I personally preferred Vindicare's commercial/music video intermissions over the idea of a host, but that's just me.

Also I feel like the more difficult the better, instead of the idea of a scaling difficultly through a series of episodes.

Looking forward to the finished product!

Hrm... well there are a few reasons why I place the text where it is and how it is.

For the "Stroke" placement - I actually preferred it on the left! But another thing was just an overall "presentation philosophy" if you will, which is simple: Don't block the center action! While I do enjoy the "text banter" that's presented in the 'Cock Hero' series, I didn't want that in what I'm creating for the simple reason that the main center action should also be on the girl(s) in action. Plus, if I do decide to keep the Stroke word blinking in rhythm to the first few seconds of beat changes, I find keeping the bottom text justified to the left easier in the case a user needs to keep track of both text sections. Also in keeping with the whole "don't block the center action" train of thought, I wanted to use as little text as possible, so I didn't want to keep describing beat changes as you suggested... tho I will take your advice to include more advance warning to beat changes a few seconds before they take place.

Indeed - I'm not going to limit myself to only HD videos, but I will definitely try to use the highest resolution versions of videos I do include.

Yeah, I don't intend to be constantly changing to different clips every few seconds - I will crossfade to different points in the same video to suit the feel of the music when I can.

Same wavelength, tBone - my thing is to focus entirely on the center action, with minimal text cues or special effects. That said, I will have some "fun" when editing to the music as I think that's only natural but I'll only do so without effecting the pleasure of the "center action".

HAHAHA... well, it sounds like you're enjoying it, so I'm glad for that.

I'm not going to do a commercial thing as I will have very few breaks between videos - but for those points where there are breaks, I plan to do something of a "relaxing slideshow".

I was a little worried that red might be too fast... the "123--" yellow was something to try out to see how effective/enjoyable it was.

Appreciate the feedback! :-)

Hey cyrex,

Well, I just checked all the download links - they all seem to be working properly. So, not sure exactly what you mean by "download does not work?"

supermokkori, loved, LOVED LOVED the video selection in the teaser.

Also, text should ABOSUTELY NOT be at the top. Bottom left right or center, and smaller text.
The reason being that I want to focus on the girls eyes..thats the sexist part. Blinkling things next to their eyes kills it for me.

i second tbone's suggestion of just describing the beat with the text at the bottom. Such as "1-2-3-4", "123--", etc.

The beat text is just to help the viewer, not distract him from the main dish. It should be such that the viewr can ignore it if he want to. I suggest keeping it simple, using one color, small text at the bottom, and 1-23-4 type descriptions. Forget flashing etc. If you can make the text translucent, even better.

There have been rounds in the CH series where I have been unable to read the text at the bottom because I could not take my eyes away from the girls face.

If Mokkori stops using videos of girls who regret being in the porn industry than he may not have any girls to use.

Hahah, you guys make good points on both ends. As this was just a teaser, I may not end up using all the videos scenes or music in the final version, but we'll see. Thanks again.
