Corset Sizing

Post by Nwah »

Hey everybody. I figure this is as good a place as any to ask this particular question.

I'd like to get a corset for myself, but I haven't the foggiest idea of how to pick the right size of one. I'm looking at this one, and I'm not exactly sure what body part the number in the sizing is referring to, or how to adapt that to the obviously different male form.

I'd appreciate any help with this. :-)

Not true, although I'll agree that it fits better if custom-made.

But forget the corset in the link, you'll need (for what I hope are obvious reasons) an underbust corset.
Try looking at http://www.corsetsboulevard.co.uk and do a search for underbust.
They're reasonably priced, and whilst they obviously aren't as "sexy" as a 'real' leather corset, they're more than enough to get you started. Whether or not that leads to eventually buying a custom-made leather item is another matter.
And trust me, the Waspies model can definitely be used for tight-lacing, assuming you treat it right.
That link can also help you with the measurements, but generally you'll want a corset that is laceable to 4" less than your natural waist.
And PLEASE don't try to suck in your stomach when taking measurements. It really does comes back to bite you.

There's a lot more info on corsets (both DIY and purchased ones) at BoundAnna written by *the* authority on tightlacing. At least to my knowledge. :-D

You may have to register to view the forum, I honestly can't remember.
