Hey friends! I tried to look up what exactly the e-stim thing is, how to get it going, and is it hardware and software. I searched "e-stim" and holy shit it was a tsunami of references. Could anyone either a) explain how it works and where I buy one or b) give me a specific link to where this stuff is explained?
Thanks community.

Re: E-stim questions.
The short version is that it's a bit like a TENS machine; the 'box' generates a small AC electrical current which is passed to your skin via electrodes (sticky pads, conductive rubber loops or insertable toys). This stimulates the nerves to make the area feel like it is being touched or massaged. It doesn't feel painful at all (unless you want it to!)
Most of what you will see talked about here are "stereostim" boxes. These use special mp3 files to control the sensation that they produce. For example they can generate a stroking sensation that is in time with the beats of a cock hero video, matching the on-screen action in VR porn or simply a variety of different sensations for different stages of a web-tease.
There is no special software required for these; all you need is the hardware, a device that can play an mp3 (PC, phone, ipod, whatever) and an aux cable to connect the two. What the software is used for is generating new mp3 files, not for playing ones that already exist.
Commercially made units are available, but it's also very easy to build your own using cheap audio components which is what I most of us seem to have done. There are a variety of guides and comparisons in the Hardware & Teledildonics forum. If you're interested in the DIY option then I'd suggest starting here: Low-cost (~$40-60) DIY Stereo E-stim for Audio Input.
Let me know if you've got any more questions! I've had mine for over a year now and the novelty still hasn't worn off. It's a total game changer for solo-play (IMHO).

Re: E-stim questions.
Just a heads up before you start looking deeper into it. Most of the fun of E-stim, for me anyways, is audio files, the teases here and videos. The ONLY way to experience this content fully is to build your own rig. Stay away from commercial devices as they have audio processing which in some cases makes audio files and teases not work as they should.
IMO, the biggest one to stay away from is the Estim Systems 2B. The built in modes and power are great, but the stereo mode is almost useless, the audio processing is so severe that A LOT of content is not supported (wish I knew this before I wasted my money).
