Sensory deprivation idea's needed

How do I shut off my hearing without earphones? So many great brains in this community. Can anyone help?

You can't turn off your hearing. It's a combination of hearing sound waves though the ear canal, and what we call "conductive hearing", which is a result of 3 small bones near your ear that vibrate as a result of sound. The only way to 'turn off' hearing is to mask the noise with something else. You can also significantly reduce the amount of sound that gets to the ears with earmuffs that not only cover the ear, but the area around it as well to reduce conductive hearing as well. But the person will usually be able to hear *something*.

Depriving sense of sight and sense of touch is far easier, and just as arousing. Plenty of ideas we can provide to help you out there. ;)

It's rather low-tech, but you can eliminate most hearing with a pillow and duct tape. Yes, it looks sill to have a pillow wrapped around your head- but it cuts out all types of sound and vibration if done right.

Padded hood is usually best way. But e.g CIA uses sound mufflers instead of hood. Interesting is also sensory overload, in this case provided by white noise generator. I think, particularly in the case of hearing, sensory overload is more effective that deprivation (and more unpleasant).
