Thanks, the community can never have too many creators so someone new is always welcome
As for how time consuming it is - yes, it does take time. If I was to give an advice to you trying to create a first CH it would be the same what 3xTripleXXX already said - start small. It's the same for all kinds of projects, not just video making but everything else too, once you get to actually doing something. Programming - let's make a new Facebook, DIY - let's build a flamethrower, CH - I wanna make a 1 hour long video with story paths and vioce acting.
Start with something that is 5-15min long and doesn't have too many "additional features". Make sure you have technical aspects figured out - creating beat patterns, beat meter, collecting and editing video material, creating intro and outro. Even for a 10min video that's a lot of work.
To give you my story - my very first CH was a 5min one. It wasn't the best, it was very basic. However I went through the process from start to finish and learned my lessons - got feedback and a good portion of discouragement along the way (things like someone random on PornHub re-uploading my video but giving it better tags, which resulted in that video being much more popular than the original one on my PH channel, even today). I learned from my lessons and made another 5min one - this one slightly better with better feedback. At that point I had a rough estimate how much time it'd take me to make a longer one.
What I'm trying to stress here - it's one thing to plan and jump to editing, but it's something else to finish your video, call it "good enough" (trust me - it's never "perfect") and actually release it. If you start too big and never finish, you'll likely never get back to editing CHs, even the smallest ones ("that unfinished project is still lying there somewhere, but I can't be bothered getting back to it"). Not to say that first videos are usually kind of rough around the edges and feedback you can get here is very valuable. You may think whatever you've made is good but most people may think opposite. You also may think that some parts ended up being quite bad regardless of you putting much effort into them, when actually most people don't really care and think they're good as they are. Also if you get a lot of criticism on your first video which you had to spend a lot of time on, it's likely you won't want to make another, while if it's short - it won't really matter much and will push you to making another one, this time slightly better.
Either way, good luck with your first CH
