Frontend developers needed

Hello,

I have an idea I wanna share with the community: An online editor for Cock Hero movies.

It will enable users to add an animation/text/audio layer on top of an existing Porn Music Video and share the result with others, as a Cock Hero video.

The visual beats are recorded on the fly by keystrokes, and can be edited later, to correct timing issues. When played back, the beat-track plays a beat-sound as they hit the middle bar (stroke area). Also included is a text-editor, for adding instructions etc, which can be synced with the video.

Basically, the finished result should be comparable to the Cock Hero videos already out there.

The first version will be crude, with just the basic functionality in place. In a later version, users will be able to customize their Cock Hero videos further.

I have already started working on a solution for this project, but would like others to get involved as well. My strong side is back-end/desktop development, so front-end wizards are especially welcome.

Technology:
Frontend: HTML5/CSS3 rendered on top of the video, with a JavaScript animation library like Velocity.js.
Backend: Since I have a Microsoft background, ASP.NET or ASP.NET MVC and C#/Visual Studio is my natural choice.

Skills needed (one or more of the following):
- HTML5/CSS3
- JavaScript/JavaScript frameworks
- Video/Audio manipulation
- Browser Game Development
- ASP.NET

Would this be Open Source? Also, an online video editing software would certainly gain momentum, and should not be limited to only one type of video. You just have to make sure that it's features are good enough to create a Cock Hero production. And finally, PHP should be used instead of ASP/C#. All platforms support PHP.

Yes, I could make it an open source project, even though I don't have experience with managing open source projects.

The project is not concerned with video editing. It is simply a html/css layer on top of a video, with animations, text and added sound. The user will have to make or choose an existing porn music video as a basis for his cock hero video and upload it to our site. (He should probably ask for permission before using anybody else's work).

The only requirement for the video type, is that it can play in a standard html5 compatible browser. I don't have experience with PHP, but as far as I know, ASP.NET supports all browsers as well.

The first version will probably be quite crude, adding more customization options in later versions.

Managing an open source project is fairly easy. For example, you can open a free account on GITHUB, and create as many projects as needed. People can contribute code, and you can choose which changes you want to include at any given time in a structured way. Plus, it's a good tool to communicate with team members, and also to keep track of bugs to fix.

Ok! I read too much into it, and I was too excited about this idea... You see, in my free time, I'm also looking for a video editing solution to create Cock Hero productions myself. My bad! But I still persist thinking that it's much better for this project to be generic. Lets call this project a VIDEO DECORATING SOLUTION. Any kind of videos could be decorated, but we just need it to do Cock Hero's one.

True, but ASP does not run on any kind of computer, just Micro$oft. My computer runs under UNIX, so that's the deal breaker for me right there.

The server it runs on has nothing to do with your computer. ASP.Net is a backend server technology. It affects the server Muthan chooses to use to host the website, not your computer. All that matters for your computer is the browser with the proposed solution.

I've often considered building something to allow PMV's to easily be turned into CH videos. I was looking at an alternative route where it would be a desktop app. Bookguy posted some requirements a while back that he thought would be awesome in a desktop video player designed for CH videos. Sadly downloadable programs on the desktop from a mostly anonymous forum such as this I would be wary of myself so it sort of stopped me from pursuing it.

I do get that concept. In this particular example, I would like my own UNIX PC to be the backend server. ASP doesn't cut it at all! PHP does! Do you see the difference?

If you already have a web server in mind that is running on IIS and are comfortable using it to build a content management system that sounds like the way to go.

It sounds like this would basically be a way to ammend moving html/css objects over the initial video. My only concern is how to do this in such a way so that most sites can actually play the videos.

The site obviously needs to be hosted at a provider who supports IIS and ASP.NET. I was considering HostGator, as I have used them previously.

Yes, I'm working on a solution, where users can view other user's work anonymously, but need to sign up and log in before they can make Cock Hero videos of their own.

Frontend refers to the UI, including the video with html overlay and javascript animations.

Yes, this is one of the tricky parts. I am looking into ways of generating a new video, by combining the original with the overlay + added sound, using FFMPEG. If it can be done, users will be able to download and upload their work to other sites. Alternatively, the videos can only be watched at our site.

This can be possible without any change to your source code if you run the backend server in the background. It's even possible under a Windows Home version (using Apache-PHP-MySql).

First, a request. For me, making the audio beats is not an issue, but transforming it to visual is more complicated. So maybe it could be nice to have an option to generate visual beats from an audio track.

Then, a question. Where the processing is going to take place? On the server or on our computer? Since it is a kind of ressource demanding step, I was wondering.

Finally, I'm sad but for now, I don't think I can help, at least for now. My web dev skills, especially what concern the front end, is almost inexistant, in a point where I don't even know what I'll have to learn to help you guys.

I agree strongly. As an oldschool C++/Assembly programmer I get herpes hearing the toolsets you want to use ... and making a CH clip isn't an online task, at all. Have you guys thought of how to save current state? What about those rare network outages? I guess it'd be much easier to write a few smaller plugins for Avidemux that in combination would get that job done. Maybe even a tool based on Avidemux - let's call it "AviMix" - would be the way to go:
- there's a timeline (zoom/scrollable, with various display modes)
- there's a pool of video and audio footage
- on the timeline you put it all together
- plugins can be used to create overlays (like f.e. a beatmeter from beat-plugin), those should also be controllable thru the timeline

Wrong - at least the browser needs to be downloaded, then what about the video and audio footage?

• Works in any browser, regardless of platform

But it will need so much processing power, that you need a pretty recent PC to use it conveniently

• Easy sharing
