I know there is a CH Randomizer in the forum, but it is a randomizer not an organizer. I've seen excel spreadsheets and link lists on the forum and I was wondering if anyone uses (and therefore can recommend) a good software for organizing porn, not only CH videos, I've recently reached the point in which I can't put all my videos on a single Hard Disk so I started looking for a solution and found a few terrible softwares.
The only free half decent solution I found was pornganizer but it is really buggy and missing a lot of basic features.
Right now my solution is a folder structure, which sucks.
I have considered writing a software for this myself, but I just feel like it is too much work for organizing porn.
Any suggestions?
How do you organize your video library?

Re: How do you organize your video library?
I have a couple of folders based on site/theme and dump stuff into it. (CockHero, WP, Misc Tease, etc, etc.)
The problem with porn video (to me) is that after you see it once or twice, it loses much of the 'awesome' and becomes boring. As a result, you end up holding on to stuff that you once thought was amazing but never watch again. LOL As such, I last year I ended up deleting a lot of videos not watched in *ages* .... much prefer photos anyway.

I am a little bit confused, maybe you could make some points more clear.
1. You found 'pornganizer', ... what does it do, and what 'basic'-features you are missing there?
2. In general, what exactly should the software do for you, how you expect it to work?
(I simply cannot imagine what a porn-organizer could do for me, how such a thing should work?!)
3. What about a second HDD, what should the program do about that?
Now to how I organize my porn:
I have 2 folders, one with all the porn in it, and another folder with videos which can be added to the 'all porn folder' in the future (ok, and a third for copies of all the chc vids to keep better track of what I have and what not).
Then the organization is done by a self made video player (using VLC Active X control), which safes the filenames of the played videos.
It always plays videos randomly (or by drag and drop), it can start the last video you watched (let's say the day before) or a new random video, but it will never play a video twice until all of the videos in the main porn folder are played once.
The reason for not wanting playing a video twice, ... I agree totally to aldorax:

Re: How do you organize your video library?
I do the exact same thing! I used to have an external that was almost exclusively dedicated to porn that I was like "man this shit is so hot, one day I'll watch it!" or like i would download a DVD, where all I cared about was this one scene but at the time the scene wasn't available as a separate download. Haven't touched any of that shit in like 5-8 years LOLaldorax wrote:I have a couple of folders based on site/theme and dump stuff into it. (CockHero, WP, Misc Tease, etc, etc.)

Re: How do you organize your video library?
Sure, the idea was clear in my mind but haven' t really explained it...I am a little bit confused, maybe you could make some points more clear.
I am looking for something like what Plex does to movies and series, in which I can add folders form different drives and sources and it will create a friendly interface with all movies, and then I can tag and browse by category, actress, site, tags, dvd, collection etc.
Pornganizer does it but is missing a few essential things, i.e. it will show you the recently watched videos and view counts, but it wont let easily filter unwatched videos.
the problem with multiple HDs is that the software must keep track of the unplugged external drives, pornganizer kind of does it but is loses thumbs and crashes if you try to open a file from an unplugged drive.
What I really want is a solution that does what streaming sites does but offline. You can browse, see details about the girls, related movies etc...
The problem with folder is that if you chose to organize by category you cant search by actress, also you can't use more than one category, say you have a redhead teacher in latex, in witch folder should it go? or you have two girls on the same movie, folder structures create more problems than solve.
I get that, but I forget about most movies in a few months, and it is nice to revisit something I liked, chances are I am going to like it again. The problem with porn video (to me) is that after you see it once or twice, it loses much of the 'awesome' and becomes boring.
I though a solution for this would be easier to find on the internet... I am surely not ther first person with this problem, I also find weird we don't have something like a porn wikipedia, I mean, some sites have a small database but it is neither collaborative nor big.
Exactly, I think storage is becoming a problem to me and I might create something like what I am looking for but more like an advanced bookmark system for porn, time to move to the cloud, it is the 21th century, I should act like it.Now everything can be streamed or googled, or torrented

Re: How do you organize your video library?
Answer: alphabetically. That's good and bad.
But first ...
One thing I have looked into (this is only tangential to your original inquiry) is a virtual-link manager for torrent facilitation. It would take care of the wrong-folder problem with torrents.
If I have (for example) a file named "Cock Hero Book Girls" (heh ...) which (a) came in to my library via a public torrent, but also which (b) I am now sharing to the netiverse via an Empornium (private torrent tracker) torrent, there can be a problem. If (a) puts the file into folder "C:/Book Guy's Porn/Cock Hero Book Girls/Book Girls/" whereas (b) puts the file into folder "C:/Book Guy's Porn/CH Bookgirls" then the torrent downloader program (uTorrent or BitTorrent or Deluge or whatever) will balk at treating the two files as though they are one and the same. Unless you eliminate one torrent. This means, you can't share to BOTH swarms with ONE file; you'd have to duplicate the file and put a copy into each proper folder, and let the torrent program wrongly think that the files are utterly different entities. But for me, duplicating files is equally problematic, as I try to keep only minimum on-site storage, and anyway, some of these dang things are upwards of 3 Gigabytes, the mere act of making a hard-drive copy of it is a five-minute endeavor.
A virtual-link can make this work easily. The torrent program thinks that the virtual link is a REAL link to a real file, and operates on it as per normal. You then take care not to delete actual files when you want to merely remove links to files. Etc.. Problem? Of course, it takes a lot of care and micro-management if you're doing it at shell-level. Why aren't there torrent-facilitators that take care of problems like this?
In fact, the whole file-management thing, in most torrent downloading scenarios, is a nightmare. Deluge can delete 10 Gb of video file data with ONE accidental mouseclick keystroke, and yet there is NO "un-do" function for that delete action. All lost (unless you have a good backup, or a good recovery utility).
Well, how do I organize my library? You can see all of it. It's alphabetical, basically.
I make it all available to everyone via my Mega sharing zone, see link in signature if you haven't already been there. The alphabetical procedure is relatively good, I find. There are weaknesses. The present biggest weakness is that the Mega accounts are not interconnected automatically; so, if I want to insert something rather large named Cock Hero Blue in to my zone of Files-A, between Cock Hero Blubber Girls and Cock Hero Bluto and Olive Oyl, then I may have to move Bluto to the next account down if I'm running out of space on Files-A. The last file in the list won't just "bump" on its own in Mega. So, I have to copy Bluto from Files-A to Files-B, then delete the copy on Files-A (after making sure the copy happened properly), and only THEN will there be enough room for Blue in Files-A. And I do this regularly. It's annoying.
Furthermore, some people name things only quasi-alphabetically. Where does "Cock Hero Five Minute Quickie" go? Under "5" or "F" or "M" or ... ? What about "Cock Hero Awesome-X edition III, Cum Hard with a Vengeance"? Is it under "A" for Awesome-X, or "C" for cum-hard (which is annoying because ALL cock hero style videos have a "c" word), etc.. I love the video. Should we create a code-number for it? And there are among the first fifteen ("Original Series") several ("Anatomy" "Ultimate" "Nations 1" etc.) with verbal names as well as numbers.
Fun fun ... ? Not. Obsessive-compulsive? You betcha.

Are you missing a cock-hero video?
Me too. Since September 1, 2020, my Mega Sharing Zones contents are being removed by Mega.

Re: How do you organize your video library?
Since you mentioned Plex, I'll say that in my experience, Kodi is similar but more flexible. And although I've never used them, I've read that there are scrapers for porn content that can be used with Kodi. (A scraper is the bit of code that searches for metadata such as cover art, actor/actress names, and tags, and applies it to videos you already have on your hard drive, and subsequently searches again for metadata when you add new content.)rkey wrote:I am looking for something like what Plex does to movies and series, in which I can add folders form different drives and sources and it will create a friendly interface with all movies, and then I can tag and browse by category, actress, site, tags, dvd, collection etc.
Try reading these threads, for example:
http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=165432
http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=188733
If you find something that you find works well, please let me know. I'm interested in finding something.
Right now, I download new porn into an "unsorted" directory, and eventually I either delete or move into a "sorted" directory that has folders for broad categories. It's not ideal.
Since I get 95% of my porn from Empornium, and they already have a great system for tagging and metadata, I'd love to replicate that automatically. I was thinking that a browser add-on could recognize when I click the download button and copy the metadata into a mysql database and track where the file actually is on my HD (so that I could download and seed from one locaton, then potentially move or delete and the file(s) and the metadata would be updated to show that too).
For those that don't see the advantage of what rkey is talking about here, imagine for a minute that you have a LOT of porn, and one day you're on a Sasha Grey kick and you want to watch something with her in it that also features anal and another girl that is at least 720p. Well, if you could search for "sasha.grey anal ffm (720p | 1080p)" from your own collection, you might find something that would fit the bill perfectly. I can do that already on Empornium... it'd be great if I could do it for stuff I've already downloaded.
