Too much work...
Too much work...
Folks, punctuation was invented for a reason. Many of the latest teases contain no punctuation where it belongs, particularly commas. I don't want to sound priggish. It's a matter of enjoying the teases. If it's too much work to "get through" what's written, then you can't have fun, because, the reader is "playing against the rules," like a board-game which is too complicated to enjoy. ---Doink.

Punctuation?
You got to be.
Kidding?
I have difficulty enough
trying to write in English!
Writing a tease is tough.
Running a grammar and spell check on every page is time consuming
I was about to launch into reductum ad absurdum
Or possible an: Ad Hominem
(grrr, hate punctuation rules)
Only because I am terrible with
Punctuation, Sigh:
Thanks.
For the feed, back?

I agree with you dude, spelling & punctiation definately degreads teases & after all. Most of the teases invove fem top & classy lokking woman. You would expect them classy women to be be able to spell & punctuate correctly. But if I were you I wouldn't critisise too much until you actually submit a tease.
I can't talk either because I havn't submitted one. But if incorrect english bugs you. Why don't you submit a tease, with a grammar twist to it.
I promise myself I will write a web tease every week. I promise I will actually do it this week.
If truth be known I would like to write a really good one.
So in summary, it is a free site. Its certainly far from perfect. But submit a tease before you critisise too much. Because it is much harder than you think
Cheers Tim

I agree with toolman if you want one to be perfect and to your liking do it your damn self. There are some stuff in teases that I just refuse to do. But I don't dog those people for not putting what "I like"

Poor spelling and grammer bugs me too. I disagree with people who argue 'write your own tease if you want it perfect'. Doink is offering constructive criticism - every author wants this. It's the reason we write teases. We want feedback, and we want to know how to write the perfect tease that brings the most enjoyment.
For those authors who have English as a second language: many thanks to you for writing your teases in English - it's all I know. I have nothing but praise for writing as well as you do, because I'm pretty sure my translated German would suck. Punctuation would be the very last thing on my mind.
What makes punctuation, spelling and grammer all the more important in a tease, is that it's a role playing fantasy for many/most of us. And nothing ruins that fantasy quicker than by encountering words the on-screen girl can't spell (hey looser). At least, that's how it is for me.

Thanks, Griffyn.
And for those who instruct me to quit complaining and to write a tease, myself: I HAVE, already.
"One Glance And I Know You So Well." It is one of the earliest to appear on this webpage.

Re: Too much work...
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one bothered by poor spelling, grammar, and punctuation. I don't expect perfection. Commas don't always have to be placed precisely according to rules, but at least try to use them where they sound right. Some typos and other mistakes here and there are understandable.
If you're an author who would benefit by using a spelling & grammar checker, my suggestion would be to type all of your text in Word first, check it, then copy-and-paste it into the pages on this site. Seems much easier that way than trying to individually check each page. Personally, when I'm making a tease (here or elsewhere) I usually write all the text in Notepad first and just paste it into ppt, flash, the website, or wherever it's going. I find it much easier to review all the text in one place that way.
To toolman's point, I've actually thought of doing a grammar-based tease. I just don't think it'd be that much fun to view, though. If I come up with a way to make it fun and not too bitchy, maybe you'll see one here sometime...

Re: Too much work...
If the author is capable of proper punctuation, I'd much rather prefer to see that as it's a lot easier to get lost in a fantasy when a Mistress is using precise, daring language to get me to submit. If there is a lack of good punctuation in a tease I don't think that means it is ruined, but then the tease content has to be a much better to make up for it and put me back in that sunmissive headspace.doink wrote:Folks, punctuation was invented for a reason. Re: Too much work...
I agree with Princess Christie (lol - of course, She's a Princess).
Anyone who goes to the trouble to make a tease ought to be supported not criticised.
I'm very fussy about commas and the like and English is my native language, but it is easy to make mistakes, particularly when dealing with, um, hot material.
It would be nice if there was a spelling editor, but for my teases I do them in WORD to start with so not necessary and I'd prefer Milovana to perfect other things (not that I have any complaints - great site!)
And great community.

Re: Too much work...
I agree with the Princess. This isn't English class. Generally I'm pretty good at grammar. It's just sometimes a afterthought. Not intentionally, but I get into my storyline and concentrate on what I'm going to put next or just get on a roll on writing and sometimes I just forget about minor stuff like grammar (to me its minor).Princess Christie wrote:It's complaints like this that make me not want to write any more teases. Some people put their heart and soul into the teases and get complaints back about their use of commas. Complaining about little things like that is a good way to make people not want to write teases. This isn't English class it's a porn site. Get over it. If you don't like the tease don't do it.
