A Milovana-based system to rate CH vids?

So, just a thought I was thinking and then thought to would be a good idea to type my thoughts out here. There are a lot of CH vids out there. One my say a plethora of them. Nay, a smorgasbord of CH vids! A lot of them are made by Milovana users. Wouldn't it be great if there was some sort of...software...somewhere...that would allow you to rate new and older releases 1-5 or 1-10 or something? I know likes and dislikes are subjective, especially when it comes to porn and what turns people on, but it would at least give some indication of whether something was good or bad. Yes, I know you can pretty much figure out if you're interested by the comments and whatnot, but I think it could be a fun addition. Eh. Just my thoughts.

Milovana has a rating system in place for web teases. The first few Cock Hero videos were submitted the same way web teases are, but with a link to wherever the video file could be obtained.

For whatever reason, CH creators haven't done that for a while. I also get the sense that with the exception of a few people who do forum moderation, there isn't a lot of active development or improvement going into this site, so I think it's doubtful we'll get a CH-specific rating system going here. (In the same breath, I thank seraph0x and everyone else involved with Milovana for providing a great site, free of charge and also free of advertising...that's rare, and appreciated.)

I think that not all CH creators would be interested or willing to submit their work to that rating or critique, but for those who are, there is probably no reason they couldn't do what lalaland did with the first CH video, and that's submit it as a web tease with a link to the video.

I could also envision Cock Hero becoming a successful subreddit, and the built-in mechanism there of up (or down) voting would give some indication of a video's popularity too.

Ratings meh. I usually find other people's tastes silly, over-the-top. The more extreme, the higher the rating, is usually how the internet goes. So, for ratings in particular, I'm not very enthusiastic. But for the INFO? Well, different story ...

Sure, I'm sure that I could do with a better updated database, including "ratings" and other helpful info. There's lots of times when I was looking through a collection to download, and couldn't remember which CH was which. For the ones that are already in local storage on my home hard drive, which don't need downloading, I can just grab some screenshots or scroll through the media player to observe the scenes; but for the ones which are still sitting only up on my cloud, I don't want to waste the time of DL only to find out afterwards that I didn't want it anyway. But I don't have a good external reference index to look through, in order to remember or re-identify which is which. Sometimes I find the most helpful thing is to go to one of the tube-sites that have streaming cock-heroes and watch a bit of the video in question there, in fact.

Hmm. Thought. Thumbnailme. Ideally, in fact, it would be nice (come to think of it) to have thumbnails of all of them: screenshots strung together (see, for example, the free program Thumbnailme) to demonstrate the contents. It wouldn't be necessary that the large conglomerated screenshot file be a very high-quality image, it's not for porn's purposes. So you could save size and data by making it mildly grainy. But it would be nice if it had many many screenshots, like one for every fifteen seconds or so of a given video all the way from start to finish. So we can look-see and know what's in it. Over the long haul, when and if I get the time and the chance, then I may start including those screenshot-conglomerations in the same folders as the videos, in my Mega cloud collection. Hmm. Just a thought. Hmm.

I think that was kind of the purpose of the cock-hero database, originally, and that's a great idea! But it's just too much work and (heh, well, uh) DATA to maintain. To put screenshots in, and to put in the names of all the performers and maybe the sources, and then the rates at which the beat-meters go? And what kind of music, and and and ... well, I'd like to be able to USE an index like that but I am not presently volunteering to CREATE one from scratch. But maybe just individualized screenshot-congloms like Thumbnailme would make, maybe I could add some of that.

Add tags to each rating and then a way to filter for tags you consider positive or negative (for instance -harcore -cumshot +softcore) and I think you will have a much better system.
