Working on making a tease so I joined Twistys.com.

Downloaded some videos the other day and now have a couple of viruses.

Seen that several authors have used pics from Twistys, so I'm just wondering....has anyone felt that they've gotten infected from their site?

I have a twisty account that I have got plenty of stuff from. I don't feel that any of it infected my computer.
same with my brazzers or digital playground or the countless time I spent on pornhub. Chances are you got the virus some place else(maybe looking on a different website for more pics/videos) than twistys.

I've been lurking for years. Because I've seen it used here often, and the site looked legit I felt that it would be safe.

I probably did get it from somewhere else. I'm usually VERY careful. That's one thing I like about Milovana....I know it's safe as long as I cover my tracks. My wife is an IT specialist and manages all the computers here.

She's not into this at all....thus "closetwanker" so I always have to be very careful what I do.

That's kinda why I'm working on a tease. Eventually I'm hoping to make an offline tease that will suite my needs....and hopefully those of a few other's who are forced to be in the closet.

I'm not a computer guy AT ALL.....so I'll be back asking for a lot of help in writing this tease. If someone who's experienced would like to be a mentor and allow me to PM them with questions I would be forever grateful!

you can get it from anywhere. From opening any page. You CAN get them with the videos, but the chance is the same as with anything else you do on the net. It's just the more expencive the site is, the lesser the chances of it being infected. Thus, free sites are the worst, and the sites of big companies or sites that earn a lot of cash are the safest (though not 100% protected, because nothing is). Twistys is such a site - it's big, it's very wealthy, it earns a lot, and thus it costs a lot. Stands to reason it has a high security. Now as I said there still is a chance it gets infected, but it's very unlikely, and for a very short period, because there's a bunch of administration team who look after it 24/7. It CAN get infected, but only if someone's trying to do it on purpose, which I cannot imagine because there's no earn in it.

No disrespect to your wife, but I have been in IT for close to 15 years doing break/fix and 'disaster service' (which most often means virus and malware resolution). Yes, SOME videos can harbor viruses, but I wouldn't call that the sole reason, let alone the most popular reason. If you want to single out videos as a virus carrier, qualify it by saying that it's those you get from unknown and anonymous sources, such as torrent sites or otherwise illegitimate sources.

Otherwise, viruses most often come embedded via web browser plug-ins, added applications, and/or just clicking on links or opening pages that are not secure. As Nezhul has suggested: The more 'reputable' the site, and the more successful it is (I wouldn't say expensive per se) the more likely it's investing in virus and malware protection on THEIR end.

Her suggesting to you (an admitted un-savvy user) that it comes from videos might be a scare tactic to thwart you from doing exactly what it is you are doing... just saying.
