This site could really use one
Well, we already have a forum for off-topic discussions: Our "All & Everything" forum is open for all topics - the name sort of gives it away.
-- That's the answer, if you don't care about why we do things differently, stop reading here
otherwise read on for some background information. --
I don't believe in having a "Misc" or "off-topic" category. If you wanna know why, I can only recommend the book "Everything is Miscellaneous" by David Weinberger. If you don't want to spend the time and money for the book, you can find a pretty good one hour talk here.
We have our main forum, and if something gets discussed enough so it needs a separate forum, we'll create one. (BDSM is really, really close to getting it's own forum btw.)
If you wanna get even more philosophical you could even say that most people live in the mainsteam and ignore all the "oddities", the "deviants" and the "off-topic". This site is doing the precise opposite, we cherish the odd and obscure and that's why our off-topic forum is our main forum, our most important forum.

WOW! Thanks sereph0x!
That is an excellent point I haven't heard of before.
Thanks, seraph0x, for the reference to "Everything is Miscellaneous." After reading your comment, I took a look at the description of the book on Amazon. It seemed interesting, so I borrowed a copy from the library. Interesting reading so far, and it may help me with a couple of issues at work. (This officially marks the first time that a webtease site helped me professionally).
