How to release a tease series?

Post by Tobias23 »

Hello,

I am trying to generate a tease series, nothing too special like the apocalypse series, or so story driven like the double agents. It's gonna be more in the sense of 'days of denial with amy', just a basic story with different kind of instructions each day, and slowly introducing new things. Some harder days, some easy days, some cum days, a lot of denied days.

The model is gonna be Kate, yeah the Kate, because I adore her, and because it is easy to find enough picture sets to use.

The Problem I am having (besides that stupid nyx creator) is how i should release the teases. My intention is to have one tease each day, for a period of hmm we'll see. But I am cerently not fast enough to write a tease a day, to keep up with the releases.

Option 1) wait until I finished the whol series, and then release them day after day.
Option 2) Release the first tease, keep writing and release them as soon as possible

Obviously option 1 is better if users want to play along, but sometimes its hard to keep motivated, so releasing them one by one and maybe getting some possitive feedback along the way, can improve the tease in the long run. I could learn from the critics and improve on mistakes from the first teases.

I tend to option 2, but then I know it won't be playable 'live' ...
what do you think?

I vote for option 1. You could also prepare only let's say 5 and than work on the next ones while the others are released day by day. Also splitting up into blocks like Decker did with the loosing control series might be a good idea!

Besides that, looking forward to it! ;)

I would prefer method 1 but I agree that it is less motivating to write that way.

Whatever you do let us know how you'll release them in the first tease.
People won't be disappointed that there is a break between releases if they knew about the break from the start.

Option one is a bit better in terms of currently playing experience. But that's pretty much it. You don't get feedback this way, and also it doesn't really matter for people who started on your series a week ago. You'll probably ammount to slightly better experience for people who are playing it right away, but at the same time can't listen to their feedback.
On the other hand option two has a drawback of greater responsibility from you and the possibility of big gaps between the series parts. Also in worst case it can be left unfinished by you or wrapped up in a weird manner when you don't want to continue it.

What I'd suggest is divide your series into small "parts" or volumes, each with some kind of ending. You write one volume up full, and release it by the first method. Then you collect feedback and keep working on volume two, and so on.

I hear you Nezhul, thank you!

I hate it when series are unfinished, or will never be finished, or being wraped up weirdly ... I get that, and I get how this happens, and I don't want it to happen with mine.

So I trashed my series idea completely for now, I still have my notes and weirdly drawn diagrams, but I won't continue making it work in nyx, INSTEAD I'll work on a new idea.

A single tease, with a bit of the style I had in mind for the series. This way I can learn that damn nyx better, and then get a feedback how well my style is liked, and where to improve. All that without the pressure to write a second part or so .. hmm?

This would be the best way I think in releasing a series.

This is a good idea. Get used to Nyx and how it works. Your first flash tease may give you a better understanding if creating a daily tease would be viable.

Another suggestion would be a combination of both of the above. Create 1 tease seperate from your planned series. Get some feedback, see where to improve(if any). Then start your series. Creating as many parts as possible. It can get boring at times creating alot without having any real idea how it will be recieved.
I find when you start losing intrest just take a few days break and come back to it when your ready. I don't know how long your planned series is but let's say it was 28 days. Then create the first 7 days and release at once. That way you will pick up more feedback but also be able to give an adequete ending without feeling the pressure of releasing the next part.

You probabley already have but just incase. A way of saving time when creating is to have your pictures ready. So If it's a 14 day tease have the 14 picture sets ready to go. I know I have struggled a few times trying to find a picture set mid-tease to go with the scenario. Then what happens is I have to start editing the story arounf the picture set avaliable, which can slow down progress and have a knock on effect to the rest of story.

Hope this helps, good luck
