If I may be totally honest, ... (of course I only speak for myself), ... the presentation from the beginning of this project wasn't any inviting to me (personally), ... it sounded a bit high-nosed and in the end it was just a program that was able to play videos somehow randomized (the forum is full of such) (and btw.: I've tested it once and it had problems with aspect ratio, basically everything not 16:9 ), ... my impression was 'oh, another video randomizer, wow *ironic rolleyes* '.Lirven wrote: Thu Nov 07, 2024 8:51 pm Question for Milovana community
I would like a bit more feedback and it feels like in the Teasing Software section of the forum this topic doesn't get much visibility. Do you think I should open it in a different section?
Plus I REALLY got/getting more and more sick of all of that Patreon-Oh-Support-My-Work bullshit, moneymilkers selling cheap crap misusing the initially great concept of Patreon.
---> Please note, that remark is a general one about Patreon-Moneymilkers, not specifically about your project, also not everything hosted on Patreon is a bad thing, ... but a lot!
But there I was, looking at a software which has features and functionallity of what a coding beginner could develop in a month (probably not the underlaying code base which might be much better than a coder beginner could come up with), but presenting it like it's the holy golden cow.
Another thought of mine was that such a thing could easily be scripted with Awakening (actually, it can't, the (already requested) buttons are missing yet), ... but thanks for the idea of the @FadeJump command, ... that idea I've shamelessly stolen from this.
That's why I personally never bothered givin any feedback on this, ... I really hope you don't take my words as offending, they are not meant as such, they are my opinion (and you've asked for feedback), maybe you can understand my point of view now that I've tried to explain it.
And maybe, just maybe, that's why other users didn't post? I don't know.
But my respect for keepin' it up for so long, ... and now with that story mode, I'll give it another shot, ... maybe it will be a positive surprise!
About your initial question about where to post, basically it's the right forum, ... with a little fantasy your project could also be mentioned in the 'The Art of Webteasing' or 'All and Everything', maybe you just give it a try, maybe with a link to this thread.
Best greetings and sorry again if anything sounded offending, again, not meant as such,
Markus
