Those protests in the past months... I can understand why Egypt and other african countries are protesting (though I support Kaddafi in this matter now), but EUROPE?! People are just too bored of living, obviously. Also 2012 is near...

Say what? Sorry to hijack a thread, but you support Gaddafi? You support a dictator? You support someone who has abused the very people he claims to represent? You, by definition, deny the right of the Libyan people to a democraticly elected government? You thing that fighting against a dictatorial government is somehow wrong?

I've spent alot of time on the internet. I've read alot of really fucking stupid things written by pig ignorant dumbfucks, but that is, quite honestly, the stupidest thing I've ever read. Military action against Gaddafi is long overdue and the only conscionable course of action for bodies such as nato that claim to have an interest in internation affairs.

On topic, its all to easy to dismiss rioters as mindless thugs, and while there is an element of that, the root causes of the rioting have to be addressed, and that is that the lower class youth of the UK do not feel they have a stake in the government or even thier communities. And that is the fault of their elected representatives and the system by which they come to office, not the police.

That said what the media seems keen to ignore is the history of rioting in the UK. There has been at most a handfull of years since around the 1500s when there hasn't been some form of violent protest somewhere in this country. This is not the first shots of some great class war. This is par for the course.

Anyway. On the subject of the riots, I cycled through salford to work and back on riot day, and again the next day, I couldnt really tell the difference... The place is full of police, hoodies and smashed up cars every day :P

well at least half of the country is FOR him. And yet instead of allowing people of Lybia to sort it out themselves, NATO has to stick in and bomb the place. Who gave them the right to decide which half of the people is right? None. BOTH sides abused people they represent. But rebels only succeed because they sold themselves to USA, or else the war would have been LONG over. BTW Gaddafi (is it how his name is written?) regime asked rebels many times to start truice and conversation - but they keep rejecting it. They dont want even democracy you talk about - they want military change of government.

I hate democracy, people are to dumb to know what's better for them and should be led. All they vote for is who looks better on a stage and promises more, not the one who promises BETTER and more real things.

It's good. But fighting with their own powerr. Egypt made their revolution - and everyone's happy, I'll say nothing. But in lybia that was from the very start - an awful Minority, and they are still there only because nato. You are basically telling me that the minority of country's people is RIGHT, and the majority who supports Gaddafi is WRONG. And now the MINORITY should win and majority should stick their opinion in the ass and take it.

the problem of Lybia is that "Glorious NATO pilots" have already killed more innocent people than "Damned Gaddafi soldiers", and if you add the killing made by rebels themselves - then Gaddafi is really the one who's trying to protect the country against american Intervention. In the end US just needs another oil-supplying country with the marionette government that will dance on the gesture of a finger. All this "Protecting piece" stuff is so laughable it makes me cry instead, lookin on how "modern society" eats it and asks for more.

Or take Syria instead. NATO yet again rises against their government, throwing DEMANDS. What damn right USA has to demand something of the other country? You have your own blasted problems instead of buttin in any conflict with your blood-striped flag and democracy. What good did your intervention made to Iraq? People are starving any dying there and ther are shooting on the streets because of this DEMOCRATIC stuff.
Anyway, Syria. Our (Russian) special reporters are there filming dayly, and you know what? All common people there are saying that the rioters were non-local, they came with guns and so on, and army walked in and got rid of them and now it's rather pieceful again. But UN and NATO will turn a blind eye on it and will run around yelling that in Syria the regime is also slaughtering pieceful protestants. Aha, Pieceful protestants with anti-tank bazookas, and armed as a small army. Aha, right.

My word to Svejk - stop reading and listening to media. Use it only as the info source for local news. Think for yourself with your own god damn mind, and you'll be less happy but less zombie too.

I'm just pointing out there's completely different visions. Nothing better is there anyway as a source of info. Knowing the situation in Syria (they are actually fighting because of the religion), and that they already tryed to perform such a revolution some years ago, I pretty much trust their government who says they are fighting with a armed radical groups. And the thing I see in the media just prooves it. As I know no other channel actually interviewed common people yet. OF COURSE it can be one-sided, but I just grab the facts from the media, and ignore their judgement.
