Have you checked the webtease section recently???? Yesterday was 5 out of first 10 webteases 1 page only....... today its 8 out of first 20 webteases...... Im lurking for some years now at Milovana , but it was never this bad.

I don't normally chime in, but the ignorant 1 pagers have pissed me off enough to do so. My gripe is primarily that these "teases" water down the overall quality of work that users put into the actual teases. For example, in the next week or so, I'll be publishing a quality flash webtease with around 1000 pages of content- it's been a project for awhile that I enjoy putting together. Within a few days of it being published, these shitty 1 pagers are likely to have buried it a few pages deep. Within a week or two, you'll have to deliberately search for it. And if you're trying to search for it, that still doesn't make it too easy unless you know the specific name of the tease (which you wouldn't unless you saw it when it was brand new) or are searching by author.

Plus, it just cheapens the site in general- makes the community look stupider to the average newcomer.

What I would suggest is the option to filter by rating, ordered by date. For example, search all teases rated 4.0 or higher, and they are presented newest to oldest. Wouldn't that solve this pretty easily?

While I also agree 100% with seraph0x'es view on non-moderation / freedom of expression / call it what you will, I do think these "spam" teases are getting awfully close to hurting the overall value of the site - and hurt the authors of real teases like Decker and the many other great contributors.

Obviously we don't want a segregation between the "accepted" authors vs. everyone else - anyone should be welcome to write a tease (including poor ones - that's down to opinion after all), but do we really need to allow teases that are in no way meant to be teases at all? Pure ads could certainly be moderated and pointed towards the "domme wanted" thread...

Also, an option to sort teases based on number of pages (both for flash and regular teases) would be good - since most of the bs "teases" are one or two pagers, and good teases very rarely are (might want to exclude audio teases from that sorting though - avoid them being sorted into the bottom of the bin just because they are 1-pagers)

To be honest, I rarely bother even opening a tease from an author I don't recognize these days - at least not without a very high rating - and that's stupid since it hurts up-and-coming authors

Perhaps there should be a filter that hides low rated, or "flagged as inappropriate" teases from the homepage

Well the problem with that approach is, that people will start writing 2-pagers, once you've banned 1-pagers.
Basing it on the rating might be difficult, because sometimes, very special teases get rated very low, or start with a low rating.
Would be better to flag them by moderators, and take them out of the default view (so you can only see them by enabling them in the advanced search). That would keep the "freedom of speech" rule in place, and would limit the power of the moderators. You still could see it, if teases get flagged for the wrong reasons.

Yep, a simple "flag as crap" feature, combined with user option of whether to see that segment or not would solve this... Community majority would categorize teases in a way that 07% of the users would agree with - and for the remaining 3% you would still have the option of seeing all teases - including those that most others do not want.

As long as the signal to noise ratio is good (like it used to be), the occasional spam tease would not deserve such measures taken - too much work, too insignificant problem.

But as the ratio gets worse, measures are more and more called for.

dont want to put pressure on admins, but there IS a "report" button that doesnt work. If it does work it shouldnt be that much trouble for us to report this crap and to remove it by "admin". Or am i wrong? Isnt it that simple?? Is that still alot of work??

The report feature is for stuff that actually break laws or rules - which in turn means it gets removed.

Beyond that, this site is very much opposed to moderating anything at all unless 100% necessary - and that is a good thing.

It may be of interest that only about 1 or 2% of people who open the first page of a tease (and are thus counted as viewing it) ever rate it. So indeed more people could be rating teases. But I also think that writing more good teases, as I suggested in my challenge, would benefit the site.

I would like to point out that this entire site is 100% free content. And it's all provided by the users. So yeah, statistically, you're going to run across some things that you're probably not very fond of. Unfortunately, that's kind of the way of things ... you have to put up with the chaff, to get the wheat, so to speak. So while you're all critiquing the site Admin for not removing the one pagers, or pointing out the myriad flaws, take a moment to also realize that you're getting an awful lot, ... for free. Yeah, I'm not always fond of certain things either, but come on ... members provide *all* of the content here. If it starts becoming the jobs of a few chosen people to just choose what's acceptable, and what's not ... you end up with content that *we* like, that you may not agree with. Pretty soon, the site reflects the desires of the few, and not the many.

Agreed- complaining seems a bit silly. But nonetheless, why not have the option for the user to filter by rating, ordered by date (ie, show only teases with a certain rating or above)? That would be a 1 time action on the part of the administrators and would make a big difference while not censoring any content. Is it just a lot harder than I'm assuming it is to program this? Is there some down side to this I'm not seeing?
