I understand that this site promotes free speech & expression, but something has to be done about all the non-teases. I also understand that it is a matter of subjectivity, so a simple solution would be to the default listings only return teases with ratings 2 or above. We give them low ratings, and the mods/admins don't have to take responsibility. All of these "teases" in question would not be deleted, and the site would be gracefully uncluttered through the magic of democracy.

The details of this method would obviously be a little more complicated. It would have to take into account how new a tease is, how many votes it has, etc.

Hell yes. In no way, shape or form can these "teases" be defined as "webteases". They therefore do NOT and should NOT belong in the webtease section.

At first i did agree to this but as you can see its 5 out of 10 first teases at the moment. And I find it rather annoying
I think its worth a discussion about possible solutions to this "problem".

I kinda like the idear of "auto deleting", but isnt that kinda prone to "vote spamming" (or isnt that possible?) by ppl who like to anoy and irritate us?

The point is that if you click "webteases", you should get webteases and not ads, people looking for dommes or anything else. For such things there's the forum, which exists and you can post whatever you like, it's a community.

The quality of the website decreases so very much with these spam webteases. We should ask moderators to delete them because they're really low quality, off topic and spam.

If you are going to use a web tease to advertise then do some work make a tease to show
Your passion, what you want and can give.
You have a fantastic opportunity to show that exactly in the text and pictures.
Stirring an interest in your desideratum.

Then do your advertising in a feed back forum,
Where you can be questioned about your abilities , and experiences, needs and wants.

Just throwing up a picture and an email is not going to do you any favours in getting what you want.

Lets face it you are just being fucking lazy.
As well as pissing off the majority of Milovanians.

We remove solicitation if it is
- commercial OR repeated (multiple postings for the same thing)
AND
- doesn't add value to the site.

The second rule is only there as a backup for when the first rule is violated. So rather than just banning all commercial solicitation we give it a pass if it comes with some content or freebie that people are enjoying.

These rules apply to all sections of the site, though obviously different moderators will apply them with different degrees of leniency. For me personally it has to be a fairly blatant violation to get deleted.

For non-commercial single postings however, I have no interest whatsoever to enforce a particular notion of what a webtease is. This site is a hosting platform, not an editorial blog. We aim to provide authors with decent tools to make and publish teases. Whatever they want to put in there is none of my business as long as they don't break the law.

For those of you who were concerned about the quality of our front page - if you are truly worried that people will no longer be able to find the good teases then there is a really simple way to help: Editorialize. You could start a blog website linking to good teases or a forum thread listing your favorites. We don't want to make judgements over content, but you are perfectly free to do so.

That said, we do consider it part of our duties to provide tools for sorting and finding teases, so if this type of tease becomes commonplace we'd add a tag and a filtering mechanism for it. Note that it'll take a few months to really get a sense if this is going to be big enough of a phenomenon to warrant its own category.

The problem with non-teases like these ads is, that they tend to come in groups. Someone posts an ad, and a view other guys immediately think, they could do that too. If there would only be one tease like the per month, it would provoke reactions like that.

I don't think, we're already at a point, were some action is inevitable. That will be the case, when the front page is dominated by teases like that most of the time, and we're not quite there yet. If we reach that point, I believe, teases like that should at lease be taken out of the default view. So they should be tagged, and the tag should be disabled by default.
When you come to this website, the first thing you'll see, is a huge amount of great content. There are a few really bad teases (rated below 2), that don't fall into the ad category. But since nobody tries to write a bad tease, except for the ad stuff, what would be the purpose of that, they are quite rare.
I just would hate to see that change.

There is a good reason, why ads in the forums are handled differently. They don't get deleted, but they get moved out of the way in a special thread. I can't see, why that rule that works so well for the forum couldn't be applied to webteases.
As I said, I don't see an inevitable need to react (even though I would react, if it was up to me), but if the problem keeps growing, I don't see a reason, not to apply the forum rules.
