I wouldn't wrap your cock in tape directly either for a longer duration.
You could try to put a sock or something similar over it at tape it up after that. Don't put any pressure on the balls, maybe even cut a whole in the sock for the balls. Since that construction doesn't stick to the skin, you can probably pull it off quite easily, since it is flexible, which a cock cage is not.
But at least it shouldn't be dangerous.

This is kinda funny to me because I've taped my cock and balls up before... once. I'm not sure if it was the kind of tape I used or what but it was a really painful experience. After a min the tap started pinching the sin and I think the adhesive irritated the skin because removing it was also really painful.

I would wait if it were me. Aside from the tap being a bad idea your going to need to be pretty industrious to come up with something that would resemble a chastity device that's both semi secure and wearable for any length of time.

There our some site if you search online that will tell you how to build your own chastity device but I havent tried any of them.

There are plenty of cheap ones on Ebay, mostly imitations of more expensive ones, but still work fine. i wont post links because i'm not sure where you are geographically, but if you're in the UK or the USA then you shouldn't have any problem getting one for $30-35 +shipping or in the UK £30ish.
