I was just wondering if there's some kind of secret handshake you need to perform when you go into the chat room to get people to talk?

There was 16 people in there before an no one saying a thing, besides a small number of people whispering.

Just a bit irritating that no one seems to 'chat' in the chat room.

is change your profile to female
and change your name to Mistress (something) or Sub (something)

girls often get showered with PM's and requests from guys

The sad fact is, is that that is the truth. They all just lurk there and then bombard Any female user who enters the room.

The problem with this is that they don't talk to anyone else which creates the silence I was talking about before, and secondly they put female users off going to the chat room. And I can't honestly blame them, why would you want to go some where if you're just going to get hammered with requests from people who think that your only purpose is to amuse them.

It's rare that I can go into chat these days and someone will even tell me how there day is going... Sad really.

Chat rooms just need to reach a critical mass, where enough people know each other and talk. The chat here is not quite there yet, at least not all the time.

That's the point though, it never will be because people go there the lurk for Dommes, and not to chat to other people. And in reality there are not a great number of Dommes who go to the chat room (I know there are a few before anyone mentions it.) because when they go in there, they just get flooded by whispers and PM's from subs.

It's not that bad, I think. There is a small chatting community.
But if guys hanging around to drown any females in PMs really is such a big problem, maybe there should be some written rules about that, and a few more chat mods, that enforce them.
And the chat also has a ignore feature.

well, i think you shouldn't PM people you don't yet or from whom you no, they don't want that. And hanging around the chat, doing that all the time, could be denied by some rules. I don't think, that's to much of a restriction, it is just a bit difficult to enforce.
If you bother people somewhere on the street all day long, you might end up in trouble as well.

If there were a way of kicking people who were inactive for 10mins that would be great, but i doubt that the chat has that flexibility? :( I would put myself forward as an option for an additional moderator, but i'd probably kick people if they were there not active for ages..

I have found the simplest way of treating unwanted Private Chats
Is to just minimise that persons individual chat window then only that person is ignored as all of that individuals chats are hidden in their minimised window.

The facilities otherwise are all or nothing and it's the individual blocks that are wanted but only private as a block of a person also hides their public chat.

Booting inactives is going to have unintended side effects.

Suppose someone in there is having a little play time with someone else and everyone else is simply watching so as to avoid interupting a scene they aren't involved in.....Boot!

So basically, you're going to force them to interupt in order to stay in the room.

So basically, you're going to force them to interupt in order to stay in the room.

If someone is involved with play then they are not inactive. Just remember to move the mouse once every 15 minutes... Not exactly a mammoth task.

Passing thought in the many settings available in chat
Is there a "Friend "option so you can allow individuals contact privately.

The current Private option turns all privates off
giving a pop up that some one is trying to contact privately.
but when you accept any one person you accept everyone.
