Is there a better way to spank or flog yourself? I find it difficult, if almost impossible to do because your body has an instinctive safeguard of self-preservation and to hit and/or spank yourself to point of hurting yourself is really hard. Are there other approaches to spanking or hitting yourself with little of no control?
The only one I know so far is laying your cock on a table and dropping a book on it. There you have somewhat little control of the consequences. Anybody have any ideas?

I never thought much about this, but it is an interesting idea. It's true that in general the body will instinctively not allow you to hit yourself hard, etc. Maybe some people can do it, but it's difficult for me to buy into. I confess to putting instructions like this into a couple of my teases, just because everyone else was doing it, lol.

So, while the title referred to spankings and floggings, I'm thinking of self-inflicted pain in general.

I'd have to say the book idea is a good one. Something a person could do is adjust the height from which the book falls. Also, I suspect pushing a book off a platform might have a different psychological effect than holding the book up then releasing it. Or, rigging a "deadfall" type device. When you're holding the book, you know when you're releasing it. Waiting for it to fall over an edge is a different story. Maybe if you have to put on a blindfold after getting into position, and use a ruler or something to push it with?

I think the key to this might be using some sort of remote device rather than having to actually hit yourself. For instance, if you're holding a paddle in your hand, you will probably check your swing, even if you don't intend to. However, if the paddle were a spring loaded contraption (complicated, I know, but just as an example) you would back up to it, strap yourself in, and either you pull the cord or you don't. How hard or gentle you are with the cord has no effect on how hard you get hit.

Short of building a complex "paddling machine" a couple of ideas come to mind.

Suspend a rope from something, with weight on the end, so when you release the weight, (preferably by remote control) it swings onto the offending area.

An old fashioned rubber- band gun might be fun and easy to make and use. Clamp it down somewhere with a string attached to the trigger/ clothespin so that when you pull it releases the rubber band. They won't exactly hit the same spot twice, and all sorts of things could be done to vary the intensity of the sting... smaller rubber bands to be stretched tighter, a longer barrel to accomodate larger bands, or firing multiple rubber bands in a single shot.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it works, and if I think of any good ideas I'll post them.

Beating yourself is indeed a bit difficult. It works fine for me on ass, tights, feet, breasts etc. as long as I'm aroused enough. It helps, if the instrument has some weight and is a bit flexible. With such an instrument you're able to beat harder by creating some momentum and just letting it hit.
What I found quite difficult is hurting my balls. A good technique for that is the following: Put an apple in a long sock and put one end in your mouth or attach it to something. Then you can drop the apple into your balls.
An other good technique is to flip rubber bands (against nipples, cock head, etc.) With strong rubber bands it also works with less sensitive body parts. You can also attach something with weight to the rubber band (e.g small piece of metal).
I also find it difficult, to rip of clothes-pegs. One way is to attach a long strong rubber band (used to secure luggage etc.) to the pegs.

I found one way that works for me with regards to spanking. Get a hairbrush, paddle, something more solid than just your hand. Then spank yourself with it while watching a spanking video. I find myself matching the instensity of the video

There are a number of electronic fly swaters on the market. My wife and I had an eight year long distance relationship and this is what she instructed me to use when we were apart. It has its own type of pain especially if used on a sensitive area. We never used it on my manhood.but the bottom of the feet were absolute torture.

Just be mindful that some of the newer ones have a plastic protect screen. It looks like it could be easily cut.

If you go with this it doesn't mater how hard or light you swing the pain is the same.

Couple of ideas:
(All have been tested, so no matter how mad they may sound, they do actually work! :-D )

First, for straight flogging, use electrical wire. And instead of reaching back and trying to hit your butt, swing to the side in front of you, and let the wire curl around your hip.
The tip then gains speed as it curls around, meaning that even soft blows has a fair effect.
Doesn't completely remove the 'fear-factor' of self-flaggelation, but it does mitigate it.

Second, use a crotch-rope with rubber-bands tied to it.
The idea is first attaching the rubberbands to a fixed point, then you pass the rope through 'em, and tie it on.
Finally, cuff yourself in front with the cuffs passed through the crotch-rope.
Now, all you have to do is get the key which is on the other side of the room. As you move forward the rubberbands will break, and snap back on the rope.
Just don't do anything stupid such as using so many rubberbands that you can't break free. *g*
As always, test the rig first.

Third, for CBT there's a variation of dropping a book (too inaccurate IMO).
Use a cardboard tube. Like the ones you get posters in.
Sit down on the floor with your legs spread, place tube vertically on your balls, insert appropiate weight at other end, and let go.
That sound of a sliding weight you get for a second, is enough to make you cringe after a while.

Finally, for those amongst us who have trouble pulling nipple-clamps off when instructed to....
Simple solution.
1) Attach clamps with a string between them.
2) Tie handcuff key to string.
3) Tie 3ft of rope to string, and tie cuffs to other end.
4) Pass rope between legs, and lock cuffs behind back.
5) Want the key? All you have to do is pull on the rope. :innocent:
The thing I love about this one is that while you wait, mustering up the courage, the nipples just keep getting more and more sensitive.
Just don't do anything moronic as using clover-clamps, or any other self-tightening devices. :no: :no:
