Flashtease in TOTM

I know this has been discussed briefly before but I wanted to get more opinions on this. As Flashtease of the Month has dissapeared, and voting is not available on flashteases, why not just include flash teases in the regular TOTM?

Personally, I think it should be. The teases are all about the writing, so it shouldn't matter what format the tease is in for it to be nominated for TOTM. Why are audioteases included in TOTM voting but Flashteases are either ignored or given a separate vote which isnt recognised in the same way (TOTM is shown on the front tease page, FTOTM gets no such honour).

Take the July TOTM nominations that have just been posted. I'm not complaining in any way about the teases that are nominated. They're all very good teases, but there were flashteases published that month that have higher scores than some of the TOTM nominees.
For example:
Challenge: Cumming by Chance by camel
Giving Up Control (Pt 6) by Ritz
Forbidden to Cum 1 by Vinny Vodka

Why should these teases be excluded? Even if a FTOTM was run for that month, the winner still wouldnt have the same status as the TOTM winner.

I'm not saying I'm right. And I'm not demanding that TOTM be changed, but I want to hear other peoples opinons. Maybe theres something I'm missing? Or maybe theres a technical reason why flashteases can't be included in TOTM?

Originally (as you know) there Was no voting for Flashteases.
So they were put in a seperate catagory
And voted on Seperately.

Now if you wish you could suggest a nomination for them.
There was a gap in nominations recently, someone was ill as I recall.

Fair points SC, some things I hadn't thought of. Just to answer a few of them IMO...

But none of those winners have an icon next to their webtease. TOTM entrys get a 'TOTM Winner' or 'TOTM nominee' icon next to their teases.

I didnt notice that flashteases get higher votes, but the amount of work on the technical side doesnt usually affect the rating. It always boils down to the writing in the end.

TOTM is fun and Im not trying to create any controversy here, just opening up a discussion.

I vote yes.

If certain teases get better ratings, the reason is probably because people like them more. That, in my opinion, is what TOTM is about. TOTM should NOT be about anything "legacy", preserving the old way.

I agree that FTOTM was a good idea, but the time is now past. Flash teases are established, so they should no longer get preferential treatment. I think FTOTM should be disbanded and folded into the overall TOTM.

When Milovana releases its next generation of webtease platforms, I think it should have its own separate TOTM for a little while too, in order to help encourage it, and then it too should be folded into the TOTM.

If people want to keep their old webteases and recognize people for it, fine, let's have a separate "Slide Tease Of The Month" vote-off, but TOTM should be for the best tease of the month.

I'd like to see a separate TOTM for flash teases - not merged with the existing competition.

Most of all because I pretty much only care for flash teases, for several reasons:
- Often less reading
- Less control / room for cheating
- More variation

So yeah, I'd love to see a "competition" for flash teases too, but I'd also love for it to stay separate of regular teases.

On a related note, we desperately need a "flash only" search option, now that the old trick of sort by rating is gone.

When looking at the list of teases, click "Advanced Search", then click the "FlashTease" type.

The badges and markings for Flash TOTM is something that was brought up a number of times and always got the same answer. "I'm working on it."

Given the work on the submissive challenge, the new chastity challenge, and all the other things Seraph0x has been doing, I'm guessing this just got pushed to the bottom of the list. Understandable. He's a busy guy.

As for lumping them all together, I vote no. Personally, I just view them as apples and oranges. They're just not the same thing.

What I meant was past winners of the Flash Tease of the Month got less recognition. TOTM gets featured on the front page and gets an icon next to their tease to show that it won, FTOTM doesn't.

Although I don't agree that flash teases should grant more credit than text teases. Personally I find it harder to write a good regular tease, but I do think they should get the SAME credit.
