As cool as all the options sound, I really think just one thing will make a big difference in the teases on this site. Giving the reader the ability to choose different paths in the tease.
The top 2 rated teases use the poor mans version of this and the Retribution Alley one does as well. Three of the top 10 rated teases. Considering how few teases try this it says a lot about what the readers like. Everyone loved the flash tease too.
I know you want it so a monkey can make a Hollywood movie with the flash editor, but I’d like to see something that can just let us write nonlinear stories. Flash tease editor or changing the current editor to allow more then just the “continue” link, not sure what kind of challenge you are facing to make this happen.
Maybe introducing a lower functioning editor before the one you really want to show us would be problematic, but I would like you to consider this option if you think the real deal is a ways off yet.

I must heartily agree with Jenna. I'm not one to gripe, but non-linear is definitely the thing we're all waiting for (or maybe just I'm waiting for). So if there's any way to get that feature sooner rather than later ...
Well, I think a great many of us'd appreciate it. 'Course, August isn't so long to wait.
