Stroke for X easily for all the reasons talked about above. I use the G15 keyboard LCD to keep track of time which is incredibly convenient. There is nothing wrong with x strokes in moderation though. Just don't use a large number of strokes.

I actually convert x strokes into time because that is how annoyed I get by large stroke counts. That said, some really good teases use x strokes which is why I have do the conversion often.

What it comes down to is that 'stroke x times' is better for a small number of strokes and 'stroke for x seconds' is better for a large number of strokes. It's kind of silly to be told to stroke for 10 seconds.

I would like a visual or sound aid so i wouldn't need to watch the clock or count in my head. If I really had to choose tho i would pick stroke for X seconds.

This is why i prefer the flashteases since they can provide a sound or visual aid. It also depends on the author. Both can be used effectively and even together. Like stroke X times in Y seconds. Or stroke X times per second for Y seconds etc.

But best would be to add a separate visual aid or sound aid to the current tease editors. For html this can be done with some clever javascript and for flash anything is possible.

Hell, I would add those features myself if i had access to the code :p

I'd have to say stroke for x seconds or minutes, not cause I love to watch the clock, but because everyone will finish at the same time. I don't know why, i chose that, I just did.
As a side note, Brad you have a skill with words, why haven't you written any teases yet? Have you written any stories here or elsewhere?

I'd have to agree with this. As a general rule of thumb (or hand) I prefer 'stroke for x seconds' to 'stroke x times'.

But it's hardly what I prefer, yes?

My Favorite is a flashtease
with stroking and a clock
so You get both a stroke count ( stroke X times)
And the clock effect (Stroke X seconds)
I prefer sound with it as well
to help me keep the rythm asked given in the tease
Regular teases just can not pull off this as seemlessly
You need to upload metronome, ect...
