Stroke/beat sound ideas

I'm having trouble deciding how to proceed with my production. My music selection is bass-heavy and it is quite difficult to include a bass drum beat sound. I personally am not a huge fan of the high-pitched clap sound that is used as an alternative in some productions.

Any ideas how to overcome this? Are there good examples of productions combining bass-heavy music with a good beat sound?

No special sound
Beatmeter breaks the melody often, so I must choose one to follow

Sound must be soft and not annoying
But u can experiment like dj with some bells or rings etc, just make them 'soft'

The beatmeter was ABOLISHED by tribes, over a decade ago. Everyone making beatmeter sounds since then has been living in an outmoded heresy. But it is not too late to repent.

IMPORTANT : This has NO stroke meter and that is deliberate. There is no need to point out to me how everything is better with a stroke meter and "I would download it if it had one" . Its my job to TRY and get you to blow your load to my sexy video, not a complex combination of beats.

I've been considering this. It would solve all my problems. There will be my annoying instructions, though.
