Sad day for sure, I'm happy it's a piece of software that will continue to work so every script we have will continue to work apart from any of the API enabled Internet based things, which I avoided because of privacy concerns anyway, so I'm happy for what I have.

Not sure anyone would be looking for me from there or not, but I was zap on that platform. Never got good enough at programming the scripts to make something of my own, not that I didn't try, but did little modifications of my own. An example was to turn a line writing script into an estim script where you'd get Estim Distraction tease stim files while typing and get zaps if taking too long or making a mistake.

AI overview:
DeviateNow was primarily the host domain for SexScripts, a platform and software dedicated to creating and sharing interactive erotic "scripts".
The site functioned as a central hub for a niche community focused on automated adult roleplay, particularly within the BDSM and "cyber mistress" subcultures.
Key Features of the Platform

SexScripts Software: A free, open-source tool that allowed users to run and create interactive stories.
Scripting Language: It used Groovy, a powerfull yet accessible language, to handle complex tasks like saving progress across sessions and international language support.
Community Forums: The SexScripts Forums hosted thousands of posts where users shared custom scripts, troubleshooting tips, and assets like image sets.
Niche Tools: One notable feature was a timed mail sender used as a "punishment mechanism," which would automatically email a pre-set file (like a picture) if a user failed to cancel it before a timer expired.

Content and Community
The platform catered to various interests, including:

BDSM & Power Exchange: Many scripts focused on spanking, teasing, and "sub control".
Roleplay: Interactive scenarios involving "virtual dominants" or "mistresses".
Hardware Integration: Discussions on the forums included using e-stim devices or smartphones as interactive "paddles" for physical feedback.

Was that something announced, is it for sure gone, ... I mean, couldn't it be just off time?

I've visited rarely, but if it's gone, it would be one of the few 'old-fashioned' forums (and with 'old-fashioned' I mean in the good way) of this kind, actually I am aware just of those 3, Milo, BoundAnna and SexScripts, ... one less, 2 still standing...

The announcement was months ago, I think in January that it would be shut down near the end of April.
It was run using the Java environment on the computer and had an Android environment too. The Android stuff stopped working properly with newer versions of Android and Java's days are numbered. The software will still work with existing installations of Java and any scripts downloaded will work fine.

Never heard of it.
In simplest terms, it operates with a user experience similar to EOS webteases but running locally on the desktop. It predated EOS and I think even the original Milovana flash/nyx webteases, so for awhile it could do things that weren't happening here.

If you look at how Tease AI, Tease AI Java, and GuideMe operate, it's similar to those in capability.
It was powerful for how simple it was to program, granted my programming skills aren't great.

You could run sound files(including E-Stim), display pictures, use multiple choice answers, have wait state and also timers to require a response in a certain time. It could also play video files, but there were never really any implementations that were released with videos because the platform limited the size of a script upload, but some people would host larger scripts(with their full file sets) and link to them on the forum.

The community was a little different than the one here and the scripts were a different style than Milovana webteases. It had a high popularity of script creation around 2020 when people had extra spare time at home and weren't going out as much, but roughly 2024 until now, the releases of new content was dwindling. It was easy to make simple scripts, there was even a scripting tool to help do it, so it was probably as simple as creating an EOS tease if you wanted a simple linear script, but if you wanted a labyrinth of multiple choices, sound, video, and something complex, you'd need to code it using groovy and the guides on the site.

Moving forward, I think platforms like Tease AI, Tease AI Java, and GuideMe are probably the closest things but GuideMe requires a whole different level of programming skill, I haven't really looked at the Tease AI[/..java] engine from a programming perspective to know what it takes to produce teases for those though.

I recall in the last weeks of sexscripts someone there posting they'd saved all the scripts and were posting them somewhere to share. Unfortunately I lost everything in a hard disk failure and no longer have any scripts saved nor the link to the archive. Does anyone have a link to saved scripts and to the sexscripts program? Seems the wayback machine didn't save recent sexscript forum posts.

As I wasn't using the software, the sad thing here (for me) is more the loss of a forum/community of this kind, such boards are like Dinosaurs in these modern times, always endangered.

I'd like to wait some time, maybe someone from there migrates here and present the necessary links.
If any, I would have only a few scripts and god knows what outdated version of the software itself, ... no guarantee, would be somewhere on an external drive I'd have to check.

It's a little off-topic so I'll keep it short, Tease AI (original and Awakening) and Tease AI Java (despite of the similarities in name and GUI design) are totally different in programming/scripting, TAI-Java requires at least basic Java-Script skills, which is a difficult and high entry barrier.

Tease AI (original and Awakening) has an own script language developed especially for these kind of teases, with just a few commands you can already get started creating basic teases, it doesn't require the typical coding structure of other languages while it's flexible and rich enough to create quite complex content as well if desired.

Every project/site requires money just to keep up. Sometimes people stop being attracted to something (that includes kinks) and move on, and then keeping project like that up just seems like a burden.

Of course I am not saying that is the reason here but it is not probable that you will find the person behind it to ask.

According to the interwebs:

SexScripts Website Shutdown and Closure
SexScripts, a long‑running platform for sharing and running adult content scripts, will shut down at the end of April 2026 ss.deviatenow.com. The decision was made by the site’s administrator, doti, citing both technological and human factors:

Technological changes: The decline of Java on desktops, Google Android’s removal of sideloading, and the increasing difficulty of protecting against advanced attacks.

Regulatory pressures: Governments are intensifying efforts to combat unregulated pornography, making it harder to operate such sites legally and safely

..you can still use all of the existing SexScripts you have including Discipline Clinic. The bonus of software that doesn't require a subscription or is hosted on the web. The only scripts that would have parts that don't work were the ones that used the API storage which was mostly images, which I avoided anyway because I don't trust my pictures to be elsewhere because of privacy.

It's not great that the incomplete Discipline Clinic After Dark will likely not have continued work though.
