That's because teasestorage.getItem("cloudsave") is undefined when you never saved before. It's why you have your fallback -1 in your Init Script.

My advice would be to remove the two eval-actions on the start page, because you already have that in the init script (and better).

Then change the visible condition of the "Begin Story" choice to just

I'm confused, what day did you get to before reloading?
Because that error only really happens if you aren't logged in to any account, so it can't load your name or setup any data.
It's not even loading your name let alone savefile.

i loaded the tease for the first time and that's the message i got, i can't even start it (i didn't try it before).
I am logged to the site so it's not a problem of not being locked with my account...it simply doesn't start and seems like considering if i had already played it and am returning (but obviously have no saved variables)

ok, i managed to solve it by going into the stats menu and doing a "reset"... and now it works and give me the "start story" button

What "didn't work"?
did buttons not appear as expected? did it crash?
Be as specific as possible.
We need to get specific here or i can't fix a thing.

For me it's not working, i get the same "Welcome Back undefined" and then gives me the following buttons:
- Models - Admin - Replayable Days - Stats - Special Thanks - Bugreport

Hi. So to add to everyone else, when I tried to play for the first time, i got the whole "undefined" thing, and so on. Then i tried the trick with the reset in stats menu, and after that, everything (as far as the menu and the first day go) worked fine repeatedly (keep in mind, I was logged in this whole time). However, when i opened the tease in a private window, logged out of milovana, I obviously got the bugged menu without the begin button. The reset worked as a one time thing, i could play fine, but after the reload it went back to the deafult state.

As far as i can tell, doing the reset while logged in seems to be the temporary fix. It shows the begin button, saves the name, edge count and so on...

i've only ever seen that issue while logged out. Not even sure how to fix it either.

I'll just remove the logic and show both buttons.
This shit pisses me off too much.

I have removed the tease now, will relaunch when i figure out why this shit wont work like it does in testing.

So, on the first try both buttons showed up (the continue one didn't do anything, obviously). I tried just quickly going thru the first day to get a save. The edge counting seemed to work (it counted 9 at the end of the chapter). When i got the game saved and an option to either continue or to back to the menu, i chose the latter and, unfortunately something is broken because the continue button dissapeared completely from the menu. I could only start a new game. I did all this while logged in.

I'm currently also working on a fairly large tease with many different functions, so i know the frustration very well Don't give up!
