Hi! I'm new here, but I've been into e-stim for a long time. I saw your invention and I want to repeat it. I wanted to ask you, is it better to build V1 now or wait until you publish V4? Does v4 feel any different from v1? And do I always need to connect all the electrodes at the same time?diglet wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 8:22 pm V1 is the original I made about a year ago using only off-the-shelf parts. It has served me and other users well.
V4 is what we are developing now, it has gone through several revisions and several boards out in the wild. I hope to gather enough confidence to publish the board files early January. The V4 is overall a nicer box, it outputs the same signals but it being smaller/lighter/wireless makes a big difference in usability, so I would recommend to wait until V4 is ready.

The V4 works in three-phase and four-phase mode, but I'm still working on getting the 4-phase output software to work.
In three-phase mode, both boxes output the same signals.
The V4 is a much nicer box, mostly because it's battery powered. I recommend it instead of the V1, the only annoying part is that the selected transformer is currently out of stock. The files should be published within a week, I had hoped to have it done already but we ordered 50 frontpanels with the wrong part number and a bit of manual rework is needed.

Re: FOC-Stim: a new approach to DIY stim hardware.
I'm thinking of building v1, easier and faster to implement. Only the B-G431B-ESC1 board is in short supply, I found the best option for about $45 on aliexpress. Is it possible to try powering it from the power bank via a converter https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32568062 ... pt=glo2usa? The description states that it supports 0.35A at the output of the positive part when powered from 5V. I also have an esp32 wroom board, is it possible to set up a wireless connection?
Re: FOC-Stim: a new approach to DIY stim hardware.
If you add to that price of transformers, you are already in v4 range. If you make it into the group buy since the quantity is kinda limited, but there will probably be moreDmitr85 wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 4:33 am I'm thinking of building v1, easier and faster to implement. In discord, ordering 50x to benefit from economies of scale (and also lower the entry bar, since minimum order quantity for PCB factory might be 5 or 10, this way people can get 1 box)

Hi, I'm interested in jumping in on this group buy as well if it's still an option.edger477 wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 6:55 pmIn discord, ordering 50x to benefit from economies of scale (and also lower the entry bar, since minimum order quantity for PCB factory might be 5 or 10, this way people can get 1 box)
Re: FOC-Stim: a new approach to DIY stim hardware.
The group buy for V4 is now live, full details in Joanne's discord.
I do not ship to US. Another member is organizing US group buy later this month, which will almost certainly not be advertised here.
I have 45 boards. It is likely demand will outstrip supply. I will try to prioritize customers with some level of community involvement and the remainder will be distributed first-come-first-serve. Go to discord to be put on the list, or shoot me a private message here on the forum if you're stuck in discords age verification limbo.
Edit: all boards gone.

Re: FOC-Stim: a new approach to DIY stim hardware.
i have been on an estim journey for a few years now , moving from mp3 to funscripts and restim . Built a few stim boxes , starting with the Davey box way back then onto larger stim stereo devices . Wish i could build one of these new boxes but look beyond me . Could some make a video of building one , i am in UK and would like to get help please .
Re: FOC-Stim: a new approach to DIY stim hardware.
The foc v4 are too advanced to build at home. The boards are ordered from jlcpcb. The V1 you can build at home, I have put pics of my build here https://github.com/edger477/FOC-Stim/tree/master/casefossie67 wrote: Wed Jan 21, 2026 8:04 am Could some make a video of building one , i am in UK and would like to get help please
I used these boxes for I think more than a year before moving to v4, it was a nice project.

Thanks have looked at pics , i understand the main board side and the wires in and out , just a little confused by the wiring in the middle , black wires what are the connect to
Re: FOC-Stim: a new approach to DIY stim hardware.
Red and black are +/- 12v that connect to the +/- terminals on esc board and other side to the jack that has the capacitor soldered to it.fossie67 wrote: Thu Jan 22, 2026 9:29 am Thanks have looked at pics , i understand the main board side and the wires in and out , just a little confused by the wiring in the middle , black wires what are the connect to
For all other wiring, make sure you understand schematic from diglet's docs - how to connect the star and remember that ceneter of that star is not connected to any wires that go off the pcb.

Hi edger477,
I noticed that ver 2.0.7 of your tool doesn't set Direction Change Probability anymore. Is this by design?
Thanks

The slider got hidden due to layout adjustments when I reduced the window size for someone on very low-res laptop
