Rereleasing Broken Teases

Just curious, if there's a broken tease out there with a long gone creator, but it can be fixed and then rereleased, is that an acceptable thing to do with credit to the original creator?

I've also been wondering about this, like the Awesome Competition and others like it seem to not exactly work but are older amazing teases which newer people with talent may not know of, I've thought of looking through the code to re release but I am too busy.

Some of them are pretty easy fixes; can be run through the nyx to eos convertor and the problem is solved. I'd post that up under my account if rereleasing is acceptable in that way.

I would say that's fine. If the author comes back and complains you can still take them down. But Nyx teases are now several years old at least and if they are broken, cultural value gets lost. So I would say it is of great value to fix and rerelease them.
And most teases operate in a copyright grey (basically black, but nobody cares) area anyway. So it would be a bit laughable to make too much of a fuzz of the originals authors copyright if the author is absent since several years.

I agree with kerkerslave that it should not be an issue. As long as it's attributed to the original author I can't see there being any problem.

I actually have a list of broken teases I've encountered, or that others have reported, that I intend to fix and re-release, but I have so many projects on the go already, and life keeps interfering, so I may never get around to it.

I'd be grateful if someone else did, and I'm happy to help if you need it.
