Problems with picture uploads in EOS
Hello,
I am experiencing a persistent problem when uploading images to an EOS gallery.
Some JPG files appear in the gallery after uploading, but others do not appear at all – even though they are valid JPGs and much smaller than the size limit.
To troubleshoot, I have tried the following without success:
Changing resolution (from small square images to large 1920×1080 16:9 images)
Re-saving the JPGs in GIMP and exporting with standard settings
Adding textures, colors, and details to avoid large uniform color areas
Matching the format, DPI, compression, and metadata of an image that does work
Using different file names and avoiding special characters
The same file uploads successfully if I rename and replace it with a different image (e.g., a photo), so the problem seems related to the image content rather than the file type or size.
Could you please confirm if there are any undocumented restrictions on:
Minimal complexity or color variation in an image
Certain patterns or large solid-color areas being rejected
A similarity filter preventing many similar images from being uploaded
Any required encoding or specific JPEG settings
This would help me understand why these valid JPGs are being silently rejected by the gallery and how I can adapt my images to meet the requirements.
Thank you for your help,
Carlo

So it seems to be a temporary bug?
Anyone can confirm?
Its strange because I tried several images, some upload some not, but I can't make out a reason why some do and some do not ...

Re: Problems with picture uploads in EOS
So far I've only been able to upload pictures that were previously uploaded, very strange bug.
I've checked with different teases, but it's still the same. I can upload images that I've uploaded to other teases and the tease itself, but not new pictures. I can also still upload images that have been renamed on my computer, as long as they've been uploaded before.

Re: Problems with picture uploads in EOS
This is not a bug, the upload is just broken. The upload to the server fails with status code 500 internal server error. Maybe the server ran out of space or something. Seraph0x has to fix this.

Yeah the "ran out of space" explanation makes a lot of sense to me. It probably has code that will check if pictures are the same as ones uploaded and use the already uploaded images instead of taking up space with copies, which is why I thought they "uploaded" correctly.

Yeah, the pictures are identified by a check sum, so every image is only stored once.Axolotl wrote: Sun Aug 10, 2025 11:58 pm Yeah the "ran out of space" explanation makes a lot of sense to me. Yes same here, I tried virtually everything before asking for help here ... but still nothing
Re: Problems with picture uploads in EOS
Same here. No new image can be uploaded no matter what format it is.
Waiting for some superheroes to fix it.

Don't expect a quick fix. Sera will solve it when they have time, but they are very busy.
