Hello all anyone can explain all stuff related to estim. What hardware/software we need.

Basics:
- Estim Box that can take audio input
- Electrodes and suitable cables
- Headphones or something
- Video with video audio
- Stim File that has the stim audio

If you're on Windows 10 or 11, you can open up Sound Settings -> App Volume and Device Preferences and then set specific audio sources on your computer to play to specific audio devices.

Set whatever application you're using to play the Video/Audio to your Headphones.
Set whatever application you're using to play the Stim File Audio to whichever headphone jack you've plugged your Estim Box into.

For estim boxes currently on the market that are decent at handling most stim files:
True StereoStim:
- MK-312BT (made by Erostek, new version of the classic ET-312)
- The Tingler (made by Stimkits)
- Estim Hero Stereo (made by Estim Hero who runs the website Estim Hero... its recursive)
Pseudo StereoStim:
- Micro 312 is a great little box that *was* made in someone's backyard, but they got overwhelmed and had other life commitments. You can still find them on the usual resale sites, but new ones aren't being made anymore
Pulse-based Boxes:
- 2B (made by Estim Systems - pulse style box so there are a lot of files that it doesn't translate well)
- Coyote (made by Dungeon Labs)
Unknown - I've never seen anyone talk about it:
- SensaVOX EM140 (made by ElectraStim)


Personally I can attest to the quality of the Micro 312, The Tingler and the 2B. My favourite is absolutely the Micro 312, as it provides great output quality and has very nicely layed out controls for using it. It's a real shame that the guy stopped making them, but life be like that sometimes.

As for finding stim file audios:
- You can use this converter made by edger477 https://edger477.github.io/funstim/funstim.html to turn a normal funscript (the kind used for Stroker toys) into a stim file. It ain't perfect, but its pretty good. You can find a lot of funscripts at the site eroscripts https://discuss.eroscripts.com/
- Scrounge the Milovana forums or go through the Estim Hero site's Releases page https://estimhero.com/ though I believe you need to create an account to access Estim Hero stuff.
- Ask people in here very nicely if they have any recommendations or Mega Links to scrounge through

Ok, you have finally motivated me to update that converter (functionally is same, all that was added was a dialog with warning). This is pretty outdated now and I hope most people will move towards restim, if not for playing estim directly, then at least for converting funscripts into mp3.

When already there and using restim, I'd recommend building foc-stim over any other boxes, it is the best way to stim right now.

Hey, I hate to hijack this thread, but is there any walkthrough tutorials for this? I have piddled around with restim several times and I cant seem to intuitively understand how its done.

Adding a +1 here, I'd also like a tutorial of some sort; features seem to have been added since the explanations I understood, and I'm lost in the options of the software and don't know what values to assign to a funscript to make it work as intended.

Not much has changed since last year.

You can find funscripts for restim here: viewtopic.php?t=27090. To play the funscripts you need to synchronize it with a video player, most use MPC-HC or VLC. There are pages on the wiki that explain how to setup these.

If you use an audio device, select the pulse-based audio algorithm in device setup and your audio device in settings.

The default settings are fine in most cases. I seem to get less skin irritation with higher frequencies, so I usually use 1700hz instead of the default 800hz. These higher frequencies are not recommended with the continuous audio algorithm for safety reasons.

Half of the time I don't even use scripts, just messing around with the settings to find something that feels good.

Not sure how to sync vlc with restim. the wiki pages seem to ver of track. Is the funscript files supposed to follow action or prompts in the video feed? Do you need to add all the various funscripts for a video then run them all at the same time? Once you have a video.script synced is it supposed to remember the connections? I was playing with the disconnected video that was recently released

That is correct, the players (VLC/MediaPlayer Classic) need to be configured to have web interface enabled (there are steps described how to do it in restim wiki), and restim uses it not to control the player but just to read current video file being played and timestamp (and also to detect when you pause/stop it), so whenever you search it adjusts the current position (this is done with less than a second of delay). Same with HereSphere, you can connect it, enable autoplay, start and just use the player in quest without having to go back to restim.

My two cents, before building a setup like the ones recommended here get yourself a TENS unit to test if you enjoy the feeling. It's unique and may not be your kink.

P.S. I also recommend using conductive gel.

This very valid advice is now becoming obsolete too, since foc-stim will be at or below the price of decent tens unit (in my case, my 2 foc boxes cost the same as my 4-channel tens, but I got tens for other purposes, did try it once for stimming and it wasn't actually pleasant, it numbs extremely fast even on ems routines)

FWIW I had a TENS box and didn't like it at all. But I kept hearing about how wonderful estim was, so eventually took a leap of faith and purchased an ET312B. After that, I never looked back.

Yet even that was somewhat hit'n'miss. It took me far too long to figure out that electrode type and placement makes a world of difference, including swapping + and - to find what works best for any particular file.

Even now I don't get the same feeling as those who suggest tri-phase common at a more-sensitive area. I just find it too-intense. I'm assuming this is due to the surface-area of the electrodes I normally use.

IMO the downsides to estim are the cost to find out whether you even like it, the trial-n-error frustration (especially with CR and gel pads), and the propensity for wires to wear out and start giving nasty spikes.
