About the reviewer and disclaimer: I'm nocnoc, the creator of Legend of the Psyons, an estim-based Eos RPG game that is still under development and one of the largest Eos projects ever created. I'll include a little info about my game toward the bottom of this post for those that are interested. I received this product for free as a beta tester (only paid for shipping) but I was under no obligation to write a positive review. These are my honest thoughts and opinions. As a long-time member of Milovana and content creator with thousands of hours invested in LOTP development, I would not steer the community to a product that I did not approve of. I tested the power box thoroughly for many hours, primarily with my own game, but also with more traditional estim files.
The short version for those that don't like reading: This is an amazing product, and it comes highly recommended. In fact, when I put out the next major update to Legend of the Psyons (hopefully by the end of summer) I'll be including a link to this product in the game manual. I consider this power box to be the ideal way to experience LOTP and similar estim games. I'll explain a bit more about why that is later in the review. This unit is a bit pricy, but more than worth it in my opinion. You get what you pay for, and this quality box is sure to provide years of pleasure... or pain depending on what you're into.
Packaging: First impressions always start with packaging. The product came in a plain box and protected with perforated paper. Everything was intact and arrived in only a few days. A detailed manual was included, which is always nice to see.
Build quality: It was clear from the moment that I inspected the unit and peripherals, that quality was a priority. Everything feels solid. The physical box is 3D printed and made from thick, sturdy plastic. The knobs and switches are metal and also feel well put together. My box was white, but various colors are available.
Features: The front of the box features a central master volume knob and smaller volume knobs for controlling the left and right channels. This is very useful for setups that involve electrodes of varying surface area, such as thin conductive bands around the penis and a wide bipolar butt plug. Each channel features colored LEDs that display the intensity. I found that this was a very nice touch. The front also houses a power switch and another switch that toggles between dual channel and triphase. (I mostly tested dual.) The channel connections (L-, L+, R-, R+) are all color coded for convenience. They match the included cables. The back of the box features an additional tiny power switch and the 3.5mm audio input. The audio input cable was also included.
Peripherals: The cables are thick and sturdy. I wish they were just a little longer, but they get the job done. They also feature 4mm/2mm banana adaptors. Everything snaps in place very snuggly, and nothing ever came loose during my testing. The power supply is medical-grade and boasts a plethora of safety features. This is often an overlooked component, that is actually very important. I have not yet tested the included pads as I used my own equipment. The package also came with a quality conductive gel, the same kind that I normally use.
Experience: The signals come through strong, clear, and unfiltered! It feels great, and I don't think you'll be disappointed. This should have a similar feel to a quality DIY unit or like the BT Stim units of old. I prefer estim devices that are a little overpowered, as it it always easy to dial things down, and I like to have some headroom to allow painful stimming over larger surface areas when desired, and this system definitely provides that. I doubt anyone will ever need more than half power, and most will probably only need one quarter power for most applications.
Advantages over filtered digital power boxes such as the 2B: Although there are many great commercial products out there, filtered digital products are less than ideal for estim Eos games such as LOTP. For those unfamiliar with the game, it features pleasurable estim while exploring the world or to simulate sex with the femdom NPCs, and also painful estim when taking damage during the turn based combat or when being punished by the NPCs. It is the custom punishment sound files that often have issues with many of the digital boxes. The sounds that I craft for pain signals are often very spiky. The Estim Hero box allows such signals to come through as intended. Many digital boxes like the popular 2B will attempt to filter out such features and don't allow the user to experience the signal as the creator intends.
Advantages over DIY: Do it yourself projects can be a great way to experience unfiltered estim signals at an affordable price, but let's face it, most people are simply unwilling to put in the time and effort. Hooking your genitals up to an electrical device of your own creation can be more than a little intimidating. And unless you are a professional electrical engineer, you are very unlikely to match the quality of this reviewed unit. I have used my own DIY box for many years. I spent a lot of time researching and building the box and I'm fairly technically inclined. My DIY feels fairly similar, but this unit has so many additional features such as the power indicator lights, individual channel volumes, and triphase capabilities. I probably would have bought this on my own accord if I had not had the pleasure of being a beta tester.
Minor issues: There is very little negative to say. I would have liked the supplied cables to be about a foot longer. (They are about 40 inches.) There are also no labels on the switches and knobs, so you'll need to refer to the manual to know what does what. I mentioned this to them and they may be looking into a way to add decals.
