Trials of the Succubi Offline (Mac)

Post by SC2 »

Hello, hope this is the right place to post this.

I wonder if anyone knows how to solve an issue in which I am unable to open the main file for the offline version of Trials of the Succubi by Indyc on Mac. I am not a coder, but when following the instructions and using terminal and the given code, I get the a message about permission being denied.

If anyone has solved this before, it would be helpful to know how. Thanks.

You need to change the code in two of the files, Start_on_MacOS.command and server.py. I've included a folder with both here

I forgot you need an updated Config.ini for mac with a general header (only change.) I'm updating the package and uploading here. If anyone has any issues running it after updating the files, let me know and I'll help how I can

Thanks for the help, I am not very good with codes and stuff, do you know the steps to take to successfully work this out?

I downloaded the second folder you shared, I appreciate that, but when I try to open the "Start on MacOS Command" file, it says that I do not have the access privilege. Not sure what that means or how to fix it.

Do I also combine the new files with the original folder that contains the game?

Did you do the chmod +x for the files? that should fix it. And yeah, put the files in the original folder or it won't work.

I'm not sure if I'm doing correctly, but here is what I am doing:

1. I took the files you have provided and replaced the former files in the original folder.
2. I opened the terminal, took the folder and dropped to the terminal, and hit enter.
3. Then, I put the chmod +x and hit enter again.

That's what I did, and I am pretty sure I did not do it right.

Quick update, I looked more about Terminal and the issue, and after couple tries, not sure better or worse, but I was finally able to click and open the file, but it opened a page on Safari that failed to open since "Safari Can't Connected to the Server".

Not sure what's going on.

Never mind, after closing the Terminal, and trying to reopen the file, it opened the game, it is supposed to be a window in Safari? I thought it would be like its own application.

Nonetheless, apologies about the confusion and thanks for the support. I am wondering what is the difference between playing the game through this vs the game on Milovana? And how does the save system works through this.

Lastly, do you know if there is a same thing for Keystorke game by the same developer for Mac?

This should pretty much work the same for Keystroke, you just have to change the port in the files to match. I'm trying to figure out a weird error I'm having, so I'll upload Keystroke files next weekend probably. Main difference in downloaded version is just that it's local. Nothing else really. Not 100% sure how the data is stored, but I assume either cache or cookies. Either way, the saves work automatically. There's also save codes in the game I believe you can copy.

Thanks, appreciate it!

The saving works well, except when fully closing the Terminal, then I have to restart all over. Hope something of that changes later on.

Weird, it doesn't happen to me. Atleast temporarily, you can get the save codes and store those in a text file or something.
