For some reason Mega implemented the limit by IP not account, so having access to a VPN you can download anything in a matter of seconds...

Also, this is up to the creators of course, but if you're up for it I saw this post by @edger477 recently on how to use Handbrake to reduce size with apparently very little to no quality loss.

My PC is a toaster so I haven't tried it myself, but thought I'd leave the link in case you're interested.

In my understanding it is not possible to get a 9 GB file to 2.5 GB without visible quality differences. I have built a preset which follows exactly the specifications I found in a post here in the forum. And the most I can get out of it is 7.6 GB to 2.5 GB. You could of course reduce that even further but then it affects the image quality too much IMO .

You can use the mega desktop app, it has a 5gb daily limit, but it will auto-pause the download when you hit your limit and just resume it after 24 hours. So should only take one day to get the whole thing.

I'm working on getting the streaming versions up, PMVHaven also allows you to download with an account. But they are limiting uploads to 2.5gb per video, don't think I can get the whole 2.5hour cut down to that size.

I have put my preset from Handbrake on MEGA if you want to try it. I don't think you'll get below 2.5 GB with it, at most 3.2 GB estimated .

What's the size limit for pmvhaven and does it support AV1 or H265?

Just played for half an hour of the first split cut, glanced through the rest, like it a lot so far!
My problem with most of other CHCs is they are (when it comes to choice of clips/models) simply not my taste, that's my problem and no criticism at all, ... the more happy I am when once in a while something that meets my taste comes out.

Just as an info:
I'm uploading a 'Original Directors Cut (No Beat)' reencode, 2,42GB , but my uploading speed is lame, so not done before tomorrow.

If a (what I would call it) PMV-script is what you are looking for (PMV-script -> Beat- and not Stroke-Indicator based), and you can wait 1-3 days, ... I'm at it.

Its limited to 2.5 GB, all of my videos are currently encoded with H265, PMVHaven does support it, my other videos uploaded without issue. Not sure about AV1 support

Hehe. Yeah, 2.5GB file size and ~2h 30min video does not really match. Would be around ~2000kb/s video which starts to be pixelated so better to live with large mega import or torrents for that

I wouldn't provide it if I would consider it bad/low quality.
Of course downsizing a video that much leads to some loss in quality, ... just compare for yourself, here is how you could do it in the VLC:

1. To accomplish this simply open VLC and select Media>Open Multiple Files.
2. Inside the multiple file windows select add to add the first file.
3. After this click on the, "Show more options," checkbox followed by the, "Play another media synchronously," checkbox at the bottom of the window.
4. Select browse next to, "Extra media," to add the second file.
5. Hit play and the two media files will play simultaneously with a single control window.


---> Resize both windows to the same size, place them side by side and compare.
(If you want to compare frame-by-frame the default short-key in VLC is 'E')
You will see the most obvious quality loss right in the intro (fine details moving super fast -> a neck-breaker), if someone consider himself as an 'intro-fetishist' then this is too low quality, but if you move on to the scenes which should be of more interest to the most, I'd consider it as ok-ish for a filesize reduction like this.
Compare, judge, decide for yourself, I wouldn't mind if you don't wanna use/upload it to your mega.

It's splitted not because it would be too big for my taste or because I have a thing for splitted files, as mentioned before my upload speed is very slow, uploading it in parts is simply easier for me.

You have to unzip/extract it to put it together, every unzip-software should do it, if you don't have one yet, I'd recommend '7-zip'

- Files bigger 4GB: The mega app might be more comfortable but is not necessary, using the 'new-IP-trick' works also if you download via browser, but Firefox doesn't work, Edge Browser works (tested)
- For the 'new-IP-trick' a VPN is fine, alternatively you can unplug your router, wait 20 seconds and plug it back in, or you could use JDownloader2's 'reconnect' feature
- The VLC media player as well as the MPV ( https://mpv.io/ ) should play h265 videos out of the box without installing the h265 codec separately

Mega/torrents is the way to go. I'm not a big fan of the streaming overall, I do it too make it more accessible for everyone. Even when I upload a 2.5gb file, if you stream it PMVHaven downsizes it even further, it looks worse than if you just watch the same uploaded file directly. For those that use the site, i recommend getting an account, they give you an option to download the raw file.

Not fan of streaming either, was just considering if I would have re-encoded to the size limit for others but like said - does not make sense with those size limits

There, transcoded it with handbrake, could probably be smaller but I used quality 21 and medium preset to make sure there is no visual loss. 21.5 or 22 with slow would get same quality with smaller file but I have half of library to transcode so didn't want to wait, but it reduced the size to 43% of original :)

First split cut done, speed limited 500u/s, tested with SR1, not the whole thing yet but enough for me to be ok with it.

So, noone played through it yet, ... who dares first?

Would call that 'hard-mode', at least.

Wow! I mean WOW! This was great, and since it took me 2 tries to make it through the first full length video. I must thank you for this production, and for me especially. A HUGE thank you for Round 2. That one stood out, had that been closer to the end, it probably would have taken 3 or 4 attempts to complete this epic.
