Two ways to interact with Alice:
Discord Bot (NEW)
Alice is now available as a Discord bot for direct messaging. This is the easiest way to get started with several advantages over the desktop version:
Discord Bot Advantages:
- Zero setup: No LLM installation required - everything runs on our end
- Cross-platform: Works on any device with Discord (Windows, Mac, Linux, mobile)
- Image generation: Use the /selfie command to have Alice generate images of herself in her current mood and state
- Always updated: New features deploy automatically without reinstalling
- Authorize the bot
- Open any DM in Discord and click the apps button (grid icon) at the bottom of the message field
- Find Alice under "Recents" and select the /setup command
- Start chatting

Windows Desktop Application (OLD) For users who prefer desktop software or want to run Alice locally with full customization, the Windows application offers additional interface features:
Desktop-Specific Features
- Dynamic character avatar that changes based on Alice's mood/emotions
- Interactive options system - Alice can provide clickable choices in [square brackets]
- Message continuation - expand any of Alice's responses by clicking the three dots (⋮)
- Context-aware responses - Alice acknowledges when you minimize the window, return after being AFK, etc.
- Clean Material Design UI with customizable settings
- Real-time typing indicators and smooth message animations
- Message formatting with support for italics and quotes
- Distinct styling for in-character dialogue and out-of-character (OOC) messages
- Choose between Nomi service or run your own LLM locally through KoboldCpp

You have two options to use the desktop app:
- Nomi Service: Requires a Nomi API Key (free to create)
- Local LLM: Run your own model through KoboldCpp (http://localhost:5001)
