Seems like a touchy topic when you get that emotional and even down to insults.

Insult me all you want if that makes you feel better, I am against the monetisation of a few kb of value pairs, but that wasn't really my point.
My point was the inappropriate advertising of it, there are places for such, and in my opinion here is none of them.
If I feel like to, I post my opinion, ... if you wanna hate me for that, be my guest, if you wanna discuss about how often I leave my basement and meet ppl in RL, you may write me a PM (just don't expect any answer).

Once you've calmed down, you may explain this.
As I see it, we have 2 different kind of scripters.

The first kind script for money, not for passion, if they give some scripts away for free, they mostly (! -> yes, there are exceptions of course) do it as a sort of (more or less) hidden advertising, heck, even over there where paid scripts are a part of the whole, it became too much and too bothersome so they ruled that out of the free section to an extent.

The second kind script for passion, for joy, and for the love to share and show stuff they have created.

With your statement, I assume (correct me if I'm wrong) you aim on the first kind of scripters.
If so, fine, very fine by me if they get demotivated, that's what I mentioned the AI's for, once we are there, it will dry out the ground they milk the people on.


But the demotivation works the other way around as well.
Maybe the attention, advertising and money-making demotivates and frustrates the second kind of scripters and creators.
Maybe, just maybe, some helpful tools doesn't make/made it to public because of that, or because creators just don't wanna see their hard work misused for monetisation?
Maybe, just maybe, some people hold back their collection of hand-made scripts because of that?

And one last thing about 'ungrateful', ... I am grateful for all those countless hours creators of whatever spend, about what they share, what they contribute to the community, here, on the whole Milovana forum and webpage, FOR FREE, FOR MANY, MANY YEARS! That's what whole Milovana is made of, that's what it is all about, to share joy and passion, not to make a few fucking bucks.
If it's 'ungrateful' that I don't jump for joy if someone who sells like 98% of his work and then suddenly feels generous enough to share one of his scripts for free (for advertising?), then sure, call me 'ungrateful'.

Once you start calling someone's work "few kb" without even knowing what is inside, whether they spent 5 minutes or 15 hours to make it, you discredited yourself from making arguments about that work. Just because there are not many bytes doesn't mean it is worthless. We don't measure quality of script by kb, we measure them by fun they provide. And it is dumb to measure worth of funscript by size... when literaly same information can be encoded with many megabytes but we use Ramer-Douglas-Pecker simplify to remove points that carry no entropy and make file smaller.

You insulted someone who created something calling their time worthless, without knowing why they scripted something, whether they have free scripts, whether they were making them for free and then maybe lost their job, were unable to land a new one when crisis caught the economy, tried to cover costs any way they could... it shows lack of consideration for other humans and their life experiences, while not adding anything to the discussion. And I have no idea if that is the case, maybe creator is a jerk who creates shit scripts and overcharges for them to get money for pot, I don't care, if people are buying it, well done, I am not going to assume either and call them unwelcome on this site because of what they do and how they live. As long they appreciate other humans here, I have no issue.

The creator appearied here and has no issue with puste making estim derivative for free, "oh hey btw I have more things like that if you are into this type of content"... to me this is appropriate, he did not make a thread on milo, this is organic advertisement that will reach people who already care about this thread and are into the type of content they might find there. Whether they will pay for it or not... it is their private concern. There is no value added in this thread if every person who reads it tells that they will go buy one of them or not, it is less relevant for this topic than the scripter saying "there is more of similar things here".

If anyone is holding back anything because they are afraid someone else is going to make money with it... well they are just sour loosers that don't want to see someone else succeeding where they failed.

And to reiterate that: If someone wants to make money by making estim funscripts based on the lessons I just completed today, and they want to use the tools I shared there, they are free to go and create scripts they sell for money, go ahead! I do not care, and I asked @diglet about the part of tool that I copied from him, he did not care much even if I attributed it to him. I am sharing it out of love, I would never call someone earning money from it "misuse", on the contrary, if I love people, then I like when they succeed, I don't need to hold them back and hide from them something I am not using to compete with them anyway. That "crabs in bucket" mentality is what is holding humanity back... "I'll keep my workflow and tools well hidden because someone else might make content with it... and the content might even be good enough they can earn money with it"... so what? If I helped someone make something people are enjoying enough to give money for it... well I just made a wave in fabric of universe, I just became immortal.
