I discovered Cock Hero way back in 2011 (if I remember correctly) with the Flux Series by Vindicare. At the time, it was a WOW moment, especially the feeling of being a player and the illusion of interactivity—it brought a level of immersion that wasn't possible before. Later, many different videos from other creators started coming out. We experimented with visuals, style, and editing, but the core idea always remained the same. So, where did the old-style Cock Hero videos go? They evolved. Recently, I saw an absolutely mind-blowing release called Encore. Before that, there was Heavenly and many other projects that are, in reality, a natural continuation and evolution of the original concept. The key point here is not about the beat meter, but rather the immersive experience itself. What I'm trying to say is that these projects were created within the community that we are all part of (with a few exceptions).
Now, if we look at the current trend of short PMV (Porn Music Videos), I think the reason is precisely in the community, which is different from ours. People watch PMVs, they like them, and they think they want to try it themselves—or maybe they know they can do it better. So, they make more PMVs based on what they enjoy and what surrounds them. With the popularity of influencers, Instagram, TikTok models, and the abundance of teasing and NSFW content, there’s now a demand for similar short montages, and that’s fueling the rise of this direction.
All of this is quite natural, and if you look at how many things evolve and develop on the internet, you can easily see that this is just part of a natural process.
I made a few old style one more recently and I can tell you that a big reason I don't find it worth the effort is due to how difficult it is just to share it with people.
Back in the day there were a dozen popular tube sites you could upload to and get tens to hundreds of thousands of viewers. Now all the big tube sites make you verify and only want people to post content of themselves or their studio. Plus bots are so good at sweeping content to check for DMCA you'd be lucky to have your video up for a week. The only sites you can upload to now are small and the other ways of sharing have little to no discovery.
All this to say, it doesn't feel worth the hours upon hours of effort if only a handful of people will ever see it. Unfortunately, it has never been a worse time for creators of these types of videos.

Video sites never worked particularly well, the quality is often bad, they are hard to find. What worked best in my experience was and still is torrents. Just post a torrent on an open tracker here, or on something like empornium or pornolab.
