Almost 5 hours in to my mage playthrough I finally managed to enter Kendall's office while she was not there. Very interesting what you can find when she is gone 8-) :innocent:
Always have to be on the lookout for secrets in this game :-D

Hi all. I am now far enough along with the V0.14.0 update (featuring companions for hire) that I can provide an ETA of about 2 or 3 weeks. I wanted to let testers know, because this major update will break existing save files. I know this update has been a long time coming, but I'm very happy with the way it is coming together, and I hope you all enjoy it as well. The companions are characters from Konosuba (Megumin, Aqua, and Darkness). One factor in this delay was that I went through a few different implementations until I finally settled on the mechanics that I liked. I also had a busier than expected summer.

In the meantime, I wanted to provide a brief project overview for those newly coming to the game. Since this project has been under development for four years (with one year off), I figured I'd try to summarize where the game currently stands for those that have not been following it.

Summary of the game: This is an estim-enabled role playing game that takes place in a magical, medieval, femdom world (called Milovana). This is not a quick, simple tease, but rather a complex game with some tease and estim elements. Just like learning any tabletop RPG, there is a learning curve, but if you invest yourself in this world, I think you'll find it worth your while and very immersive. There is a lot of lore and dialog, so if you are not a fan of reading, this probably is not a game for you. If, however, you are a fan of old school text adventure games like Ultima, table top games like D&D, dating RPGs, visual novels, and estim, then this game may be right up your alley. The game intro plays a bit like a visual novel, but then transitions to an open world RPG with sophisticated turn-based combat, quests, puzzles, mysteries, exploration and so forth.

Summary of XXX content: The adult content comes in two primary forms. The townsfolk are beautiful Anime girls that you can romance. This is literally part of the lore, as you are pulled into this animated universe where everything looks drawn. There are however also images of "real" women. The world is being invaded by Psyons. These evil beings use psyonic projections to distract you during combat. They can "probe your memories" in the form of nude models of real women. Higher level enemies feature larger image pools and more extreme fetish and XXX content.

Summary of estim content: Plenty of players enjoy the game without estim, but estim is deeply woven into the lore of the game. Without giving too much away, you'll generally be experiencing pleasurable estim as you explore the world. More intense pleasure is experienced when having sex with the townsfolk. However, when you take damage (being punished by the NPCs or being injured in combat by the Psyons), you experience painful estim. This is a deeply immersive and unique game mechanic that any estim fan should enjoy.

Some general game notes:
- Many dozens of hours of content with a lot of replay value. (Random events, your quest decisions, your dialog choices, and your character class greatly impact the content that you will see.)
- Dozens of quests with a sophisticated quest engine. Many quests have multiple pathways and completion options.
- Tens of thousands of lines of programming
- Tens of thousands of lines of dialog
- Thousands of images
- Dozens of NPCs with unique personalities
- Dozens of enemy types
- Huge open world with deep lore, mysteries, puzzles, riddles, and so forth
- Leveling with skill point distribution
- Hundreds of tiered loot items, gear and weapons
- Weapon upgrades
- Complex mechanics like lingering injuries, damage over time, enchantments, consumables, special abilities, potions etc.
- Many game setting options like combat difficulty
- Text based (copy and paste) save system to get past the limited storage of Eos
- Text based game maps that can print to the browser console
- Cheat console for testers
- Progression of time (Time continues even as you are doing nothing. You could be attacked by a monster while looking through a room. Characters will know how long you took to complete a quest and so forth.)
- And so much more

(And of course, companions for hire coming in the next update.) :w00t:

If you'd like a link for testing the game, please send me a PM.

Final notice for testers that the companion update is coming within a week or so. The update will break existing save files. I'm just finishing up some dialog sequences and doing some testing. This isn't the biggest of updates, but it is one of the most game changing (if you hire them for combat) and it required a lot of combat engine overhaul to pull off. I'm very excited to release it.

Im very excited for your release but I wont be having any this month and maybe the next so... :D perhaps 2 versions from now i can get to it, been keeping an eye on this and seems like it might be the time to jump in. altough version number is still very low thats a lot of content you already made!

When playing around in audacity I realized I dont really have a good way to maintain a constant signal strenght between different files. I guess one could test them in succession to compare but that seems roundabout to me. Id like to ask if you have a better way of handling this (if you generate the signals yourself)? Same with DoT effects etc. id imagine 2 signals can play simultaneously , do you just divide their loudness by 2?

@Jackall: Yes, I do make my own sounds in a variety of ways including AI generation, some specialized software and websites and also, from time to time, I modify the sound files from existing estim content. Getting a consistent signal strength is tricky. There are probably more experienced estim users that could give you more detailed advice, but I find a good technique is to use Audacity to adjust the volumes such that all of the sound files max out at the same peak level (80% for LOTP). You can do so visually. Then I do some testing and make further small adjustments from there, as certain kinds of sound waves can be more painful than others, even at the same volume. It's a lot of work and there will always be variations from the perspective of the end user experience based on boxes and electrodes and the like. It is best to use unfiltered boxes like a DIY, which is what I use. Of course, many people play this particular game with no estim at all, because it is first and foremost meant to be a complete game and not everyone has estim. I slowly add more estim content over time and I've incorporated a lot of advice over the years from my testers, but LOTP will always be an adult RPG project that features estim content rather than the other way around. There are already a lot of teases that were heavy on the estim focus with minimal or simpler stories and gameplay for those looking for that sort of content, so I try to cater to a different crowd, especially those that are nostalgic for classic adventure games that feature a bit more reading, lore, depth and complex game mechanics.

Version 0.14.0 Alpha of Legend of the Psyons is now live on the tester link. I don't have time to type up the release notes tonight, but I'll try to do so later this weekend. The main focus of this update was the addition of companions for hire. You can now enter the guild house and hire one of three companions to fight with you. Fans of Konosuba should especially enjoy the new content. If you would like the tester link, send me a PM. :-D

Re: Legend of the Psyons - Huge RPG Estim Project - Now open-ish alpha - Bug reporting and feedback

Summary: The version 0.14.0 Alpha release marks the first major release in a while. Moving forward, I really hope to get updates out more frequently, but this can be unpredictable as real world demands ebb and flow. I remain committed to this huge project even though it is taking years to develop. The main content of this update features three companions for hire. The companions are meant to add some additional richness to the combat experience. One reason for the long development time for this patch was that the combat engine code (some of the more complex code in the game) needed to be significantly overhauled to enable companion combat. Each of the three companions (Darkness, Aqua, and Megumin) have unique personalities, attacks, combat styles and skill stats. Each companion features a primary attack, a special secondary attack and a special ability. They will automatically use their primary and secondary attacks to aid you in combat. You can request that they trigger their special ability during your combat turn. I made them pretty costly, as they make combat quite a bit easier. Also, you only get half the normal XP from combat victory to help mitigate this advantage. Once hired, they will travel with you for 90 minutes. Time spent in town and time spent in the game menus (paused) does not count towards this time limit. I’ll likely be increasing the difficulty a bit for the hard and hardcore combat difficulties in the upcoming minor update, but I need to do more testing myself and hopefully get feedback from a reasonable number of testers to determine the extent of this increase. I’d like companion assistance, especially for boss battles to be a strong consideration on harder difficulties, while remaining just a fun option on easier difficulties. The Psyon may also sometimes attack your companion instead of you during the fight. If a companion takes too much damage, they are knocked out of combat for the remainder of that battle. The companions each have a base level, but their effective combat level is an average of their own level and yours as you soul merge with them. Their disposition and dominance can also impact their fighting abilities. I experimented with a variety of companion mechanics before settling on the current system, which was another reason why this update took so long to develop. I really hope you enjoy it, but further refinements may very well be needed based on tester feedback.

-----> Release Notes <-----

--- New Content ---

* Six new NPCs (Luna, Darkness, Aqua, Megumin, Rem and Ram) *

- Luna (of Konosuba) is Head Mistress of the guild house (a new location that you can now enter). There is an extensive introduction scene when you enter for the first time. After she “inspects” you for herself, you must pass an initiation test that involves both your physical and sexual endurance. You get to pick which of the three companions performs the test. This sticks with my attempt to add a lot of replay value, as you can only experience one of these three kinky scenes per playthrough, unless you save spam. This choice also influences the companion’s dominance and disposition. Overall, the dialog here is meant to be lighthearted to add a bit of comic relief to the game. Once you pass the test, you can hire a companion from Luna for a fee. The first companion that you hire is also impactful and also triggers a unique scene. There is a soul merging ritual that must be performed that allows your companion to see the Psyons so that they can aid you in combat.

- Darkness (of Konosuba) is one of the three companions for hire. This blonde bombshell is a level 4 holy crusader. She is the heartiest of the bunch and fights with an enchanted sword that does extra damage against undead and demons. Her secondary attack is a bow that can silence the enemy. (Silence is a new game mechanic that reduces the effected agent’s ability to inflict magical damage.) Her special ability can be used to grant you a protective shield that guards against curse and psychic damage and also slightly enhances action point regeneration.

- Aqua (of Konosuba) is one of the three companions for hire. This sexy blue-haired vixen is a level 6 water bender. Her primary attack is a long-ranged water blast that can slow the target and reduce their action points. Her secondary special attack is a powerful short-ranged typhoon blast that can render the target prone. Her special ability can grant you flowing form, reducing your odds of suffering critical damage and allowing you to move forward and backward more effectively during combat.

- Megumin (of Konosuba) is one of the three companions for hire. This petite cutie is a level 8 fire witch. Her primary attack is a staff that casts fire balls. Her secondary special attack is devastating explosion magic. Her special ability can enhance your melee and ranged non-magical attacks with a fire enchantment that does an extra 5 points of damage.

- Rem and Ram: These are two minor characters that can be met in the bathhouse. They are the maids of Emilia the elf. This scene becomes available in the random pool of bathhouse scenes after you complete Miley’s lost ring quest. During this scene you can get the address of Emilia in the residential district. Her house is not yet added to the game, but once it is added, you’ll be seeing more of Rem and Ram.

* Added graveyard and forest random encounters and other companion scene trigger points* (Partial spoiler warning!)

- Several new random encounters related to the companions have been added to the graveyard. For some, you must be traveling with the companion for it to trigger. There is a more elaborate scene involving all three companions. It has a variety of dialog paths, and a mage can trigger a sex scene with Megumin.

- The code for the forest zone was enhanced to allow for random encounters to trigger, just like in the graveyard. Right now, this is rather underutilized. There are only two scenes that can trigger when traveling with Megumin, but now that this system has been put in place, I’ll be adding many more scenes to the random pool for forest encounters. That should make exploring the forest a lot more fun.

- There are several trigger locations for unique scenes when traveling with a companion. Some have very specific triggers. (Spoiler) For example, if you take Darkness down the wishing well before any other companion, and she’s not too dominant, and her disposition towards you is pretty high, you’ll get a very kinky scene in which she’ll tie herself up for you. The boss battles also feature unique scenes with each companion. The Death Queen scenes are a bit more erotic. Since boss battles are one offs, this also adds some replay as you'll have to choose which companion to bring to the boss fights, if any.

* Game Engine Upgrades *

- The combat engine was significantly upgraded to handle the new companion system. Their three unique special abilities were added. The combat effect of silence was also added for Darkness’s bow. Silence will be used more going forward.

* Miscellaneous *

- The display for HP and AP has enhanced logic to not include decimals when they are whole numbers. So for example, instead of displaying 50.0 it would simply read 50. When needed, two decimals of precision can be displayed.

- Altered the pic for harvesting. I didn’t like the old one, especially because of the white background.

- The ent’s slam attack has been made unblockable as it made no sense for a shield to reduce damage in that context.

--- Bug Fixes ---

- Some testers noticed an error message in the console related to lesser goddess Uru when traveling in the graveyard. Although the game engine handled this error without issue, the problem should no longer occur.

- Fixed an error in the map legend for the console text map of the cathedral zone north of the graveyard.

- Some player hygiene odors were not being properly applied during some of the bathhouse and locker room scenes (such as foot and ass worship). This was fixed.

- Fixed several dozen typographical errors.

Upcoming plans: I hope to push out a minor release 0.14.1 in a month or two. It should remain compatible with 0.14.0 game save data. It will feature more random encounters in the forest, more town scenes involving the companions (especially in the tavern and bathhouse) and a kinky quest to aid the guild of heroines involving Scarlet and her big boobs.

Those interested in playing the game can message me for the alpha tester link. Your bug reports and feedback and suggestions are welcome. I even just like hearing of your adventures as knowing that people are enjoying this rather niche type of game content is a huge motivational driver for me, given the crazy scope that this project has grown into over the years. Cheers!

@Take-It: Yes it's still being developed. I just posted a major update (companions for hire) in October. I've been working on a minor release that will be out soon that features random encounters in the forest, much like I added to the graveyard a while back. Right now I have completed 12 different scenes that can trigger when you travel with a companion in the forest. Once I add a few more scenes I'll release it as V0.14.1 with a second minor release coming before I tackle the next big update that will include a new zone.

The game is very much playable and is fairly polished, but not complete. It's the biggest game ever made for Eos with many dozens of hours of content and a lot of replay value as your choices, random chance, and your character class can have a pretty big impact on what content you discover. If you'd like to play, just send me (or another tester) a request for the testing link. It automatically updates to the latest version of the game. It begins a bit like a visual novel and then transitions into a huge open world with dozens of women to meet and many locations to explore and dozens of quests. It's not for those looking for a simple or quick tease. It's a complex world with a lot of lore and somewhat sophisticated RPG mechanics. Just read above a few more posts if you'd like more info. I could actually use a new round of detail-oriented testers, as many of my most reliable testers have been busy as of late.
