It's absolutely out of respect for Raga for not having looked elsewhere. My role in this project is small potatos compared to his labor he puts into this.Assloverdude wrote: Thu Jul 22, 2021 8:08 pm
That is unfortunate![]()
I have to say that I think it's too bad to throw away something that is 95% finished. Especially if you think it is as good as the first two Canto's. Of course you have to respect the other two, so if I were you I would wait for a while, and then, if they still are gone, I would ask some of the creators you respect in here if they could finish it.
While I have the utmost respect for Barebones123 and loved our collab on previous Canto, I would concede that the beats are a small part that can be done elsewhere but replaced Raga who is the true artist in all this would feel wrong. Of course as far as Barebones goes - the task is his to own if he shows up. By all means that would be my idea scenario. I have the songs that are used with a "beat map" of what and when to set a stroke meter to. It's just the technical computer part of it that I never learned to do. I could though. I just not very savvy with computer apps/programs it takes a long time for me to acclimate.
That being said, the only thing left is changing some of the dialogue, and adding the prologues. The latter is easy and even I could do. The former - without the master file, I don't think anyone would be able to change the words (some misspellings, some grammar, and some that I personally think sound better - we work by him putting a comment/notion of what to say then I try to write dialogue that flows well with the character and scene based on the message he suggested (when he does suggest); other times I'm doing most of the writing and making sure the story has a cohesive plotline that doesn't contradict or wind up needing a ret-con.
It's not like that at all. He LOVED what he did. He thinks it is his best work yet. In fact he sent me 8 small "extra" scenes - each to a song and with certain character/cast as sort of either parallel timelines like "Rogue One" or "Solo" was to Star Wars or like alternate timelines; all as stand along one-shot scenes. He was very gung-ho and proud and excited. So it's not like that at all.Assloverdude wrote: Thu Jul 22, 2021 8:08 pm But it is different, of course, if Raga expressed to you that he was not pleased with the result. Then you probably should just let the project die
Its more about my fear that something unfortunate has happened to him in his private or business life since the whole proverbial shit hit the proverbial fan over the past 16 months.
EDIT - NEVERMIND - These posts did the trick. He sent me a private message
He says hi,
I know you guys have all been eagerly awaiting and from the bottom of both our hearts, we appreciate your patience and support and your kind words of encouragement. we started doing this for ourselves - just to add to this great CH library but something that spoke to us just how we wanted it. So it's awesome to know so many enjoy it just as much.
