With respect to the imaging issue. I have the same problem and have for several versions. Philo added in the ability to resize after removing it from older versions. I set mine at 80%. I tried everything to get around this, screen resoultions and so forth, but nothing works. It also seems like this is not the issue for all so don't pull your hair out trying to resolve it, just resize to 80% and go on. I also tried resizing the GuideMe screens with the sliders and it really did not woirk either.

I've experimented a bit more and found the issue. If you are using the application in German Alt+D shortcut becomes the default shortcut to reach the "File" Tab ("Datei" in German). For some reason trying to change the language of the application itself didn't work. Only after changing my Windows Language to English the Alt+D shortcut worked again.

edit: switching languages within the application only works while my Windows OS is set to English but not if it's set to German

I have a tease that I would like more than one audio file to play on some pages. Is there a way to do this in a XML? I know you can have them repeat but I use wildcards and let GuideMe choose what to play. I have found that the "loops" attribute does not work and I can understand why. Thoughts? PlayfulGuy?

Hi All :wave:

I need some advice on video formatting. What's a good format/resolution for use in GM that maintains a reasonable file size? I'm editing videos that are 1080p or 720p, but the file sizes are very large. I can export to many different formats and resolutions, but I'm not sure which is best "fit" (pardon the pun) for GM. *** EDIT *** I can see that the size is highly dependent on the parameters such as VBR or CBR, specific to each editing program. So I think the question is more specific to GM: are there optimal parameters such that any resolution or other quality is "downgraded"?

Hi, an additional video question. :wave:

I was having a cropping issue with video only displaying the upper-left quarter of the video in v4.3, so I upgraded to v4.4 and it seemed to fix the issue when I ran a test. But then, when I created a new video and tried it in GM, the same thing happened.

EDIT: In case it's not clear, I added the yellow lines on the image to show the missing video. :yes: Also, I looked through the logs and did not see anything that stood out as an error nor as anything obviously wrong (in my non-expert review).

EDIT #2: I don't know what the issue was, but I reinstalled GM 4.4 and it solved my problem. :whistle:

It's not entirely clear what you are asking there. You said you use wildcards and let GuideMe choose what to play, but you also want more than one audio file. Are you wanting to play both at the same time, or one after the other?

If you want both to play at the same time, you need GuideMe 4.0 or higher. GuideMe 4 added an Audio2 tag to play a second audio file at the same time as the first.
The xml would look like

If you want one after the other, just have one page play an audio file, then go to another page that plays another audio file. If you're using wildcards the only downside is you might get the same file played both times.
The xml would look like

and then in NextPage you just play another audio file. And f course you can use wildcards if you want to.

As for the loops attribute not working, what version of GuideMe are you using? I just did a test with version 4.4 and it works just fine, and I've used it in GuideMe 1.5 and know it works there, but what the loops parameter does is repeat the same file several times. It can't play a different file.

PlayfulGuy, Yeah, I wanted one to play after another. If I do not use wildcards and specify the file and add the loop attribute it wiorks fine but I guess with the wildcard It doesn't know what to loop? Anyway I can just load the next page and accomplish the same thing. Thanks for your help.

Hello, I have an issue with the current build.

I am not sure if it comes from the teases I try to play or from GuideMe itself but some audio files aren't playing at all. It appears randomly, a tease with an audio file will work just fine while another tease with the same structure won't play. I'm using the 64-bits version.
Can someone help me pretty please ? Tell me if you need log files.

It would be most helpful if you post log files, and tell us what teases you are trying, where you got them, etc.

Based on this small amount of information it's hard to suggest anything. I've not had any particular issues at all with sound in the current build (4.4), so it's more likely something wrong with your audio player, or the tease itself.

One thing I have seen with all versions of GuideMe is that sometimes a GuideMe process does not exit cleanly and seems to prevent later GuideMe sessions from playing audio. Terminating the phantom task (or a reboot) always fixes that.

I wasn't sure which log you need so I've put them in the zip file below. It happened with a few teases, recently I tried to do the writer's adventures by Rayray77 and it happened in the Chapter 1 part C (https://milovana.com/webteases/showtease.php?id=43959) and it appears at page EmilyConfront6 while the rest of the tease was doing perfectly fine.
I also tried "Pathetic Loser Censored Hentai Conditioning" (https://milovana.com/webteases/showtease.php?id=45827) and basically almost all the pages display no sounds at all. The only pages having sounds are the one with this structure :

Ah! Version 0.92 of the downloader had an issue where some sound files did not download properly because of the url I was using to retrieve them. This was fixed in version 0.93 which I just uploaded a couple days ago. I can't promise it doesn't break something else, but try downloading the teases again with version 0.93 of the downloader.

GuideMe does not directly support EOS teases, so if you download an EOS tease with my downloader it might be safer to assume the downloader has broken something (at least for now).

Hello,

I have a technical question about the GuideMe software as it relates to a specific tease. I have been having problems loading images while play playing "Gotta Edge Em All" by Baron Hardpenis. I have changed many of the folders to models of my choosing and have experienced some technical hiccups. I have been able to run this tease in both GuideMe 3.4 and 4.4, in both cases with identical (to my knowledge) problems. Other than problems listed below, I have found everything else to be in excellent working order.

Most images will load just fine (even some with a very large resolution), but other will refuse to load, and show only "body content" in the top left corner, where the image would've begun. This seems to be PNGs and possibly other unsupported formats, but I am also positive that JPGs have also done this at some. Other folders will instead only have one functional image the folders contain multiple JPGs of reasonable size) while all others in the folder will never be displayed.

Is there some sort of memory limit inherent to the tease and/or program that prevents it from loading all images? Currently the most vexing problem is the folders that only have one usable image, with regards to the "body content" problem, I can go through easily enough and find PNGs or other unsupported formats and convert/repair/delete those images.

There have also been rarer problems where I have had the program completely freeze, with everything including the real-time clock in the application freeze. The only option is to close the application completely and restart it. I do not know the exact triggers for this, but it does occur when an image is due to switch.

Finally, the tease includes flavour text that flashes up on screen alongside the image/controls. This is by far the least pressing issue, but it only works about 30% of the time. The rest of the time, it displays what I interpret to be the variable name, something like "p_StrokeText". I would like to know if this is emblematic of some larger issue or just a minor oversight.

Unfortunately, this tease doesn't display the name of the file being displayed (though in fairness this would ruin the tease, so it is very difficult for me to track down specifically which images may be causing problems. Any assistance with these issues would be greatly appreciated.
