I have been doing that in various forms ever since I saw your advice on SocialStim. Thanks for that!throwawayacct wrote: Thu Sep 02, 2021 6:13 pm I'm a big believer in insulating the top half of a rubber loop electrode.
As for the tightness, the head loop is the challenge for me. Since I am starting out soft, it has to be quite tight to feel good, but that becomes *too* tight quickly when things get going. The answer has been to put some play in the system. My best head loop so far is a wire-core CR in a figure-eight with the main loop around my head and the smaller loop free to contract as I expand--the wire gauge is critical, 16 AWG I think, might be 18. I bend the free loop down so it rests against my head surface--seems a shame to waste it.
I also had promising results with another wire-core CR bend using 14 AWG, which only BARELY fits into the 2mm CR tunnel and is stiff enough to really hold a shape. I was going for an incomplete head loop with a gap and some "wings" at the gap that I could loop closed with self-clinging cloth medical tape. It felt great, but my first design was not viable to wear for a full session. With some refining, it could be the best yet, owing its success to the cloth tape's comfortable stretch.
K comes after J, is that it?throwawayacct wrote: Thu Sep 02, 2021 6:13 pm I was using J-Lube for a while... I discovered "K-Lube" and it seems to last longer, and mixes easier, and less residue on cleanup.
