I put the database together because there were a couple of teases that I couldn't find, and I was also interested in finding teases with specific phrases or keywords, especially including the Flash and EOS teases.

I've spent far more time developing the database app than actually using it or playing teases found by it; fortunately, I've always enjoyed the challenge of software development .

Occasionally I'll update the database when new content is added, and when the associated metadata changes (e.g. rating). I guess I see your dilemma, but I don't really think it would be violating the spirit of Milovana. The authors publish these teases on a public forum, so anyone can see the content of them. Even though your database may have the text of the teases I assume it doesn't include the images, so it's not like you're making the entire tease available through some channel other than Milovana.

You're just making it far easier for people to find teases that are of interest to them. If Milovana did this itself there would be no need for your database, so I think it's a great contribution to the community.

Yeah, that's a fair point, and you're right that I don't capture any of the images, and a lot of the magic in the teases comes from the interaction.

Perhaps what I'll do is release a version that contains database packs that go up to the end of 2020 (i.e. a year out of date), at least to garner an initial opinion from the masses.

You're probably right that most here are Windows users, but I'm getting the feeling that more and more people may be using mobile too now that EOS teases are mobile-friendly.

My downloader is also written in Python (I used PySimpleGUI for the GUI parts) so if I can be of any assistance with testing or whatever let me know.

Thanks, I'll definitely take you up on that offer.

The application itself it entirely terminal based, so I'm not sure how it'll behave under Windows. The first 20 years of my career was building Windows applications with C/C++/C# and a wide variety of frameworks, but never Python. I know the Windows console very well, but quite how Python interacts with it might be interesting to discover.

Getting my Windows installation up and running again isn't going to be as easy as it should be, but I'll persist. In the meantime, I've packaged everything using pyinstaller both for Linux and Windows (albeit through wine). The Windows version does seem to work through wine, but exhibits some unusual symptoms, namely:
* The caret position seems to be one line higher than it should be
* Tab completion does work, but it seems to duplicate the suggestion lines and mess up the display a bit
* ANSI colour highlighting isn't supported and just shows silly symbols

I don't know if these issues are related to wine compatibility, or if these are genuine issues. Under Linux I use the readline module to support input and tab completion, but that's not available on Windows. Under Windows, I installed pyreadline which seems to provide the functionality of readline but is an older and no longer unsupported module. If it doesn't want to behave, it shouldn't be too much trouble to add a GUI front end. I've used tkinter for a Python GUI before but I haven't used PySimpleGUI before so that could be interesting to look at.

I'll package something up and DM it over to you to have a look at.
