Hi everyone,

I’m deeply sorry to announce you that my computer died 2 weeks ago (at the beginning multiple crashes and now impossible to re-start).

I tried to recover my files, and i mean by that my adobe saves for Lust Nightmare CH witout success for now. To make matters worse, there were other future projects i was working on too « Gone to smoke ».

My last chance is to send my computer to a pro and i hope i could get the data back.

If not, i will release the last version of the project that i sent to beta testers (my last save) : which is a video in 480p. Unfortunately, this video has some real unbalanced audio issues and doesn’t reflect the final product that we had in mind. Especially since high_octane got you used to excellent quality in the past.

As you can imagine, i am very disappointed and frustrated : especially because i feel like that i failed 3xTripleXXX and Smutreader who invested themselves with me in this project.

And moslty you, the players.

So, focus on others creators who are in this forum. And send positive thoughts to Mister « PC repairman ».

Drive failure occurs when red lining full. Don't send to specialist they only use programs such as wondershare data recovery. The program downloaded from pirate bay and was used it in the computer shop I used to work at.
Another method is to access the drive with a sata cable to usb and power source (often sold with the title below}. Remove the drive and set up the cable. good luck.

The computer crashes frequently for many times. Maybe there is something wrong with the system. Your video data is saved on the non system disk (usually the system disk is Disk C). You don't need to recover the data. It's still there. You just need to re install the system, and then install your video editing software in the same path before you can continue editing, or copy it directly. If the video data is put on the system disk, then you need to use other methods (such as mobile hard disk box) to copy the video data and editing data first, and then re install the system. But if the most serious storage of your video data that hard disk serious bad, then can only do a good job to recover the worst of the data.

Ack! Don't feel like you failed us. Drive crashes suck. That said, as others say, even if the drive isn't booting, chances are good that the data is salvageable, either with an external kit or with drive recovery software.

If it helps, I still have the beta you sent me in February that's in 1080p. It'd be hard to do audio adjustments on it, but I have the version without the beat track and a version with a beat track, and so it'd be fully possible to put a new beat track on that and at least balance beat track audio vs. the rest of the video.

I've spent a fair bit of time messing about with audio files recently - If all it needs certain sections boosting/reducing (rather than the balance between different tracks in the same section adjusting) then I can easily strip the audio from the video and tweak it in Audacity that way.

If it needs more than that, you're getting out of my level of expertise but I'll still happily see what I can manage. Just drop me a PM if you're interested.

Good luck with the recovery, some good suggestions around.
The data is likely in good condition on whatever drive you had it stored, even if its the system drive. Often the solution is just getting that drive connected as a non-system drive to a working computer and recovering the non-system data files.

I see failed drive posts from time to time, and it saddens me that creators didn't backup their precious cargo. For the others, use this as a wakeup call and make a backup now!

I agree with the suggestions to hook up the failed drive to a working computer and salvage files through USB. It often works. I did it before, and for files we can get this way, feels like a miracle.

The free software I use is PC Inspector File Recovery, the one released in 2005 for Windows 2000 is still relevant 20 years later. Sorry, I can't find the website at this time, but software archives seems to carry it.

With a bit of messing about it's possible if you still have (or can redownload) a copy of the music file. If you invert the waveforms of the music file and then line it up carefully it will cancel out the music embedded in the video and leave just the audio of the content. It's the same principle that noise cancelling headphones use. Adjust the volume of the inverted track and you'll adjust the volume of the embedded music accordingly.

Whether the balancing issues are severe enough to warrant this amount of messing about is another question. Judging by the perfectionism displayed in your previous productions, I'd guess it's probably pretty good already!

Yeah, true enough. If you use software like VirtualDJ, you can do stuff like filter out voice or drums or whatever on the fly as well. But the best result is of course if they files can be recovered and use the original sources. :) But worst case, it could be worth a go.
