I use beatmeter Generator. It is nice but some features of Cock Heroine are missing. In addiction, on my PC, many bugs slow down the process. for instance, many keyboard shortcuts are disabled.

It is just observations and not a criticism. Having tools, even imperfect ones, is already great! Thank you :love:

I would love it if Cock Heroine did 'everything', and then you could use one tool for all things related to creating a cock hero. But it doesn't, and it's a lot of effort to make a tool which does everything - it would need to be a video editor, sex harware control interface, Digital audio workstation, etc.
There are already a lot of tools out there for some of those things: Loads of video editors, 'buttplug' controls lots of types of sex hardware, there are free or cheap Digital Audio Workstation programs (There's 'Ardour' on Linux (maybe other OSs too?), I think there's something that comes for free on Mac, I'm sure Windows has a load of options).

When this was first created, there were no options out there, and I wanted something which I could use to 'script' Cock Hero videos that already existed. Just tap the keyboard along to the Cock Hero beats, and use it to make sure what you've recorded is perfectly in time. That is/was its main purpose.
But there's no reason it can't be used to create beat patterns for a PMV, any other video with music, or a Cock Hero video in the making.

Now there are already scripts for a lot of Cock Hero videos, but some are full-speed (up-and-down per beat), others are half-speed (up on one beat, down on the next), some are a mixture based on the scripter's preference. The edging sections are a lottery and if they're wrong, they'll either finish you off when they weren't meant to, or leave you underwhelmed. I've long known that funscripts aren't the best format for storing Cock Hero scripts. I already had a tool that did what I wanted, but as more tools have become available, I've tried to add to Cock Heroine to create something that can work as part of the general tool 'ecosystem' that's out there, and I can add more features if I get time.

I'm really glad that Cock Heroine adds some features that you were missing in other tools.
And I'm so glad you realise that imperfect tools have value - because I'm sure Cock Heroine is also imperfect.

Honestly, I can see Cock Heroine working pretty well with BeatmeterGenreator - add the beats in real-time with Cock Heroine, tidy them up in the editor, then export them to BeatmeterGenerator for adding things like custom colouring (if you want) and exporting to a visual beat meter. Just need to know what format BeatmeterGenerator needs the data in.

One day I hope to add the ability for Cock Heroine to render the beat meter itself. Because it knows the actual musical length of the beats, it could render them as actual musical notes. One day...

Would it be easy to just output the beatmeter as a folder of pngs or something? It would probably be a crazy amount of work to make it render into the video itself. But if you have a video of only the beatmeter or just a folder with all the images of the beatmeter, it's extremely easy for someone to use a video editor (including free ones like Resolve) to just drag and drop it on top of their video. It's probably more desirable to add the beatmeter through an editor anyways as you can easily move it around, resize it, change the color, make it invisible, etc.

What would probably be quite easy would be to create a very short (top-to-bottom) but insanely wide (right-to-left) image, which was the entire beat meter. Not sure if video editors will accept such an image and let you basically scroll from one end to the other. That way the video editor handles the scrolling.
The editor window basically creates such an image already, but only for the beats the user has selected (which is usually one round at a time). I could probably reuse most of that code to create a similar image for the entire video.

I believe most video editors can take a series of images as input and it will treat them as frames. Common/popular video encoders like ffmpeg can also convert a series of images into video. So if you have a series of images or a video that is something like 100x1920 pixels, it's pretty easy to just drag it on top of another 1080p video using any of the popular video editors. Maybe some of the more experienced creators can chime in, but from what I understand a lot of them create the beatmeter this way.

Yep, that's how Beatmeter Generator does it, at least. I assume the After Effects plugin doesn't bother exporting, since Premiere Pro can drag AE projects right in and use them, but at least both Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve can bring in images sequences. Basically, what you'd need to be able to specify at a bare minimum would be screen width and fps, so you get the right number of images that are wide enough. I think Beatmeter Generator uses .png, but any typical image type that supports transparency should work, I suppose. :)

memma, I gave it a shot but unfortunately, I have no idea what to do. I've never coded and lack the skills to use your program. I do very much appreciate the time and effort you put into this and I hope someone with more knowledge than me finds it useful. Cheers!

I created an example usage video.
Hopefully you'll find it useful...
I also found a couple of bugs while recording it, so I squished them too.
New version available along with the video, all under the same link in the original post.

New version inclues:
* Added VERY basic undo in the editor (it will only undo optimisation actions so far)
* Export beat meter as series of images (some limited customisation possible)
* Made it easier to import 'full-speed' funscripts - they can be converted to normal beats for you
* Added video seeking with the keyboard to the editor window
* Added highlighting to rows with long gaps between them - makes it easier to find the begining and end of rounds in the main window.
* A few bug fixes

QT is free for personal use. As for the version, always go with the latest version. It seems that maintainers hate to debug old versions, and won't. :wall:

If your video is too fat, there's a solution!

The generated output of your video editor may be bloated, too big for not any significant benefit. One thing you can do is use HANDBRAKE with the H.264 (x264), RF18 Constant Quality and Web Optimized / Fast Start options, all other options by default. You'd be surprised how smaller the video becomes, without any impact to the quality.

I'm using Qt v5.12.9, which came with Qt Creator v4.12.2 (it's confusing that the version numbers aren't synchronised).
According to the website, Qt6 is now available. I honestly have no idea if the code builds on Qt6, so if you want to be safe, go with a recent version of Qt5.x.

If you're running Windows, there is a pre-built 64-bit version available (see the original post) so you don't need to download Qt.

Hi all,

Just an update:

I've uploaded a new version of both the code on GitHub and a Windows release to go with it.
The main new points are E-Stim support and maybe some basic butt-plugin support (I can't remember if the last version I uploaded had that, but it supports vibrator-type devices as I only had Lovense vibe toys to try it with). Also a few bug fixes probably.

Please feel free to try it out. I will help with any problems you have if/when I can and have time.
