This looks really intriguing and fun (but difficult, seems like there will be a whole lot of edging)!


However, I have looked at the rules and what is actually going on in the thread and I don't feel that I am really able to follow what is actually happening as it doesn't seem to match. (Largely about the order of the steps as laid out in the rules, compared to how people actually play.)

Here are my questions/observations:

The initial post says to check which card effects affect you before playing cards, but in a response it was explained that cards you play do not affect you.
This seems contradictory, should steps 4 and 5 be switched around so that you play the cards before you check what effects apply to you?

STEP 4: See which cards apply to you today:

Possible Effects On Your Round

- Cards played against you (that affect your round)

- Per round there is a maximum of four offensive cards that apply to it.

- Any card that goes beyond that amount will apply on your next round instead.

STEP 5: Play any cards you wish to play. Per round you may play one card offensively and/or one card defensively.

- The moment you play the card it is no longer in your hand, so the holding effect does not count for that round!

The rules also say that you post your pics right after finding the edging categories from half (rounded up) of your cards (before looking at effects from cards, etc).
I see no mention of posting pics for the other categories (effects, etc), still I get the impression that everyone is posting pics also for those. Am I just misreading the rules, or should 2 (posting pics) be moved later in the order of the steps? (right before 6?)

We should fix this asap, because it'd be a shame if that keeps people from playing it!

That makes sense. I realize now that my take on the 4/5 situation is probably problematic as well.

I think I understand that whole part better now, essentially one needs to:
4) Collect the effects from your own hand as well as cards played by other players
5) Play cards (in a way that is compatible with the current effects)
X) Act on remaining effects

I suppose I read the existing rules as having "4" and "X" grouped as one thing, while it is effectively a separate and later step to act on the effects?

Effects from cards played against you or everyone
- The moment someone plays a card against you or everyone it applies to your next round

Effects from previous cards that last longer than one round[/i]
- Some cards played against you by other players affect you for multiple rounds. It is clearly stated on the cards if that is the case.

Amount of cards that can apply to you during a round
- Per round there is a maximum of four offensive cards that apply to this round.
- This excludes all cards that do not affect your round directly (example: a card that lets you edge to a video) or cards that have been played in a former round that have a longer lasting effect.
