Updates:

- Finished the Queens bedroom in the private quarters of the palace.

- I added an additional city location where there is a chance to encounter a mysterious woman that will trigger the game's first stealth mission linked to the queen's bedroom. There are two paths that you can take the quest. I'm trying to make some of the quests have several options like this as I always like that in games. However, it does add a lot of development time. I also added a really cool thing in the bedroom, but I don't want to spoil it.The quest trigger requires that you have done some rogue-like activities first. Several quests have very specific starting requirements like this. This marks the 17th quest.

- Made the second boss in the game (skeletal general). She is guarding the entrance to the old cathedral north of the graveyard. The cathedral is the 4th major zone. It will be mostly a handcrafted zone, not procedural.

- Added the first two locations in the cathedral.

- Fleshed out the player stats (achievement page) a bit.

- Added skill books to the game. Reading a given title for the first time will permanently increase the corresponding skill.

- Altered the map key functionality. Previously, when you printed the region map on the browser console, the key for all locations was printed. This sort of ruined the surprise, for example you would see "t = treasure vault" in the map key before you found it. You wouldn't know where it was, but you would know it was there. I've been meaning to change this for a while and finally got around to it. Now, the key is only added once you have been to the location.

The pre-alpha link should be sent out to alpha testers tomorrow afternoon!!!

- Updates:

-Added a new enemy type to the northern graveyard for more enemy variety. Beware the deathly cold touch of the level 4 phantasm!

- Wrote the combat section of the manual. I figured the alpha testers would need that part ASAP.

- As I'll be pushing out real time updates as bug reports come in and I add new content, I substantially increased the engine's ability to detect and inform the user of save data compatibility issues if the saved game data is from an earlier game version. It attempts to inform the user if the compatibility risk is low, unknown, or high. The player can now cancel the load procedure if desired based on the provided risk assessment to help avoid accidentally crashing the game or introducing instabilities.

- Fixed a few typos and fixed a bug related to looking at the waterfall outside of the palace.

- Found and fixed an insidious bug that was causing loaded saved data to sometimes report a missing data component after entering the first location in the graveyard. This flew under my radar because I usually use the cheat console to move around. I discovered it during a no cheat playthrough that I started today. That was the hardest bug I've tracked down in a while. I need some Advil lol. Unfortunately, my saved data for several hours of play got corrupted.

The pre-alpha has launched. About 40 people got private messages today with the link. I also started a new thread for bug reports and feedback.
