I think this sounds like a great idea. Also I dont think 40min is too much for a single star. I am not to talk as I am not one who makes CH vids. But as the thread of 13 pornstar tributes has clearly proven amazing, stunning quality work for single stars can be made with 1+ hr long videos. I would be gladly to work out a monetary reward to said creators to make a video of a star for me.

Every minute of completed footage takes between 45-60 minutes when you factor in all the steps that goes into it. I would wager most creators on this forum have technical skills which are worth at least $20/hr.

This means for a 40 minute video you are looking in the ballpark of about $800. Perhaps some creators would be willing to go lower than that. There are videos on this forum which are formulaic and maybe only take 10-15 minutes per completed minute of footage.

For the price that you offer, I could complete the beat meter to one round. (This process stands on countless hours of work that others put in).

I would think of the payment as more of a bonus than actually commissioning the work. If you were already thinking of making a 45-minute video for a single star on that list, hey, here's some beer money in gratitude.

Maybe a group bounty would make more sense? Propose a CH project and get other people to pledge beer money, too? This could get weird with IP law, though; it's harder to claim fair use and no trademark infringement intended when there's money on the table. Bitcoin probably is the safer alternative.

Also, CH: Little Caprice is almost an hour and a quarter, and is one of the better CH videos (IMO) out there, so single-star CH videos are definitely possible.

Estimates for time investment and value ring true. No apparent hard feelings at the idea of someone being paid any amount to do it. Maybe envy would arise later, but isn't that the envious person's problem?

The risks haven't been fully addressed. I'll simplify that. Copyright and anonymity. The courts will disagree that what we do is a payable (or even legally publishable) form of found art. Few people would want the heat from the accusation alone. IRS recently announced a bounty for cracking Monero.

Whatever their likelihood, those are the concerns.

If it comes to taking something from internet which you might think it's free, then modyfing it and then republishing like those videos, it is ok. Sometimes video might get deleted due to some content issues.
But when we talk about monetizing the content we not have a rights to - that is an issue for me.
I mean this site is ment to be opensource. If someone want to make deals of it, keep it secret, but like I said, I don't encourage to do this.

This is such a common misconception. What one thinks about some content, and whether the content is modified IS TOTALLY IRRELEVANT. If the content is copyrighted, using the content is subject to actions from the copyright owner. End of story!
